Ftse futures currently up 170 points (2.65 per cent). Hopefully bt correlates with the rise on the open

This share been correlating well with ftse moves last week or so.

Ftse futures looking up a decent 100 for tomorrows open and see it gaining more overnight into the open, as the worries of beijing 2nd peak overnight wane, as they realise authorities all over it this time to close down area into lockdown quick and no extra harm to economy. Also technically ftse due a big bounce, as well oversold and vix is high to help with a decent big bounce higher.

Expect bt back to 120 imho tomorrow.

Dow down nearly 2000 points at close (7 per cent). Ftse futures for Tom looking at another 120 points down on open.

Extreme volatility is back

130 small resistance
137 medium resistance
150 area major resistance.
118/120 medium support
98/100 major support.

Hopefully the tracker funds will take over if we continue to rise buying more value, as thats what they do as they have to re weight their portfolios and as so much global money is in trackers the value share price rise could be self fulfilling, like it was on the downside. Just need the upside trend to be firmly in place.

Whats making this rise

a massive shift into value stocks. Look at marks and spencer, centrica, lloyds etc all big risers

As well as the underlying business, the global stock market rally. i.e ftse 30 per cent from the lows, must also be having a positive impact on bt pension valuation too.

Has to be good for bt pension deficit too.

Indeed bt performing poor vs mkt last 3 days specifically. Can it play some catch up in next few sessions ?

Just added little more at 1.1795. Short term trade this one, as feel well break 120.00 today, later on.

There are many companies that don’t pay dividends and usually if for the right reason of getting a better return on that investment, then shareholders shouldn’t want to be paid dividend as the investment return will be higher than the dividend, which goes on the share price over time.
Ie amazon never pay dividends just reinvest as they believe they can make better use of that money for shareholders.

If dividends are cancelled due to not making any money that’s a different story.

But I think Jansen is exactly doing right thing as it also keeps their debt cheap in bond mkt as well as getting 10/12 per cent return. This share hasn’t done bad since the bottom it’s rallied 20 percent and still on short term bullish momentum at moment.

So let’s see where it is in 6mths. But bit harsh to say it’s distressed.

Bt debt is bbb rated which certainly isnt distressed either

If hmg want a stake in bt, they have to pay a premium. Only if bt goes to hmg with beggar bowl in hand would the govt take a stake and dilute sp for shareholders.

"I disagree, BT is a distressed company"

£2bln a year profit and cancelling dividend to invest to get a 10/12 per cent return on dividend reinvestment into infrastructure, is not a distressed company in my book.

I think the sp continues to show great potential for 150 p soon, as it makes new highs comes off a bit with the income funds/profit takers, but then revisits the highs intraday again. Its very bullish to me with real money buying and the sellers becoming more and more filled in, to create a much higher price and we may even accelerate gains a little more soon imho.

Up a nice 80 points again.

The mkt definitely is irrational nowdays on value stock valuations vs tech stocks.

I blame the tracker funds, where everyone chooses nowdays over stock picker funds, but that bubble will burst and the reverse in valuations will happen soon.

It’s showing up 54 for today but was also up 90 yest on close and actual mkt was closed so need to add on the 90 for yest due to mkt close so now up ard 144. It resets itself at every London close at 4.35pm. So you can check before open for what ftse will most likely open

Up a bundle today ie nearly 150 points since Friday close.
Wonder if bt can perform accordingly for a look back at 120 today

The sellers are slowly getting soaked up, every intraday dip being bought by buyers.

Upto 135p will continue to be sticky, break of that i feel a quick move to 190/200
