Trip to my local Halfords reveals massive bike sales3 Aug 2020 20:44
Went to my local Halfords, wanted to check out how many in store, how many bikes in the sales area racks.......
Pleasantly surprised, it apppeared nealy all the sales area bike stands contained bikes, so I'm thinking they are re-stocked and I know there is massive demand so good news. Adult section had about 50 bikes on the sales racks so I thought I would have a closer look. This was late Sunday afternoon, about 4:30 (they close at 5 on Sunday). I was checking the frame sizes and realised the one I was looking at had a big label on the top frame rail of the bike. It was a check list of "how your bike was put together". I see, so it was a sold one waiting to be collected by the new owner.
I then realised that all but about 3 of the bikes were in fact SOLD and had the same label on. So we have the sales area in the adult bike section full odf bikes, just about ALL of which were waiting to be collected by there new owner.
My take on this is that Halfords are selling bikes faster than ever. Note some of these bikes cost over a grand. In fact the most expensive electric bike is I think £2,995, and they are low on stock with that one when I looked yesterday.
On their site the "bikes available from stock" showed a few mins ago 100 bikes.
My conclusion is Halfords are RAKING IT IN. The last results were to 31st March so only had a week or so of lock down bike sale pick up. It's MASSIVE, it's UNPRECEDENTED, it's everyone wants a bike (or electric scooter) and halfords are RAKING IT IN.
All In my honest opinion. Do your own research.................. visit a branch and see for yourself!!!
