Why will the transition be harsh?
This will be over many years, if not a few decades.
Oil is used for fuel but where does plastic come from, plastic trees?
Most of the chemicals the word use come from oil.
I'd say it's relatively EASY for BP and other oil Companies to change to wind/solar/wave power.
Just divert the billions that went into finding developing new oil/gas fields.
As far as the tech goes the likes of BP are far beyond any new sea based wond power outfit due to the massive oil rigs etc. they are used to completely designing etc. Solar, wind and wave must be kids play to them.
I'll be buying in as soon as the sp stabilises once the fools have sold.

as in some fund decided, forghet making money as that is no longer in fashion, let's sell oil shares so we can tell our clients how green we are (but not mention the massive financial loss?). Once the overhang is cleared, with Brent @ 73.73 we will be back to £3.15 in no time. All complete guesswork of course!!!

Should add in Jan hospital admissions hit 4500 per day, just before lock down.
