The other Indian Party introduced the retrospective tax that seems to break international law and so why they lost the International Arbitration. Modi and the other party in power now is trying to avoid paying the interest and legal costs that are to the tune of $500 million, even though the International Arbitration Court has ordered them to pay the lot in COMPENSATION. This paints a picture to me of successive Govenments that seem to be dishonest!!! It's pretty obvious to anyone if you look at the facts.

Accept the $1.2 Billion.
As for the $500m interest and legal charges guarantee this will be invested in India in the next 3 years.
Thus the indian Govenment have a positive to sell to their population.
This way International investors would be happy the full $1.7 Billion compensation was paid. Green light for investing in India.

The weekend papers may push the sp higher Monday as £1.70 seems daft to me. If the indian Government pay it will be about the same as the curent market cap. So is the Comoany currently worth NIL £. NOTHING. I mean how firkin daft is that???

The £1.70 cannot possibly be taking accoubnt of the interest and legal costs element. Indeed I can't see how it taks account of the $1.2 Billion by any stretch of the imagination! MAD.

We could get an announcement to say, for instance that the agreement is $1.2 Billion plus $400 million ($100 million saving to get it done & resolved). In which case the sp would IMHO more than double from here. £3.40 is not out of the question. I don't think the sp would top £4.00. So somewhere between £2.80 and £3.80 I reckon.

Yes, I appreciate if the ask went to £3.75 they would get no takers. I believe the lead market making Company sets the prices. There are usually at least 3 market making Co's and with shares like BP. there are more like 30.
