it's totally and utterly obvious all Companies in the travel industry will recover, If you think otherwise you need your head examined. This share sky-rocketed to £1.70 last time there was good news. I expect the same again and more. I won't be selling at £1.70. I'll be selling some at £2.15 and holding the rest for more. It's a dream chance to make a load of cash as far as I am concerned. 1 month £1.70, 4 months £2.50.

Again I say they are in the perfect market to rake in the money over the next few years. Just a matter of time until it starts really coming in IMHO.

Was going to the next door's Tescos and noticed the M&S car park was almost full, which was frankly extremely surprising. Wondered why so went in and found nothing unusual to bring in customers......... just a lot of customers! Maybe end of month pay day was to do with it.

recovering from the covid nightmare would be another delta like strain of covid. I think that is extremely unlikely.
All the other "problems" are easy to deal with given time.
High fuel costs - pass on the cost to passengers.
Not enough staff - recruit more.
It's interesting to think this cancelled flight issue through. It sounds extremely bad, but is it really that bad?
As I understand it there are not enough staff to deal with the number of planes/passengers that were going to take off.
So the number of planes actually taking off is reduced.
I guess those planes will be totally and absolutely at capacity. One could call this extremely efficient. The fuel burn't is powering a full plane, rather than one that might be only 90% full or whatever.
One drawback is claims people will make for overnight stays in Hotels.
The other is some passengers booking on another airline's flight and the original airline having to pay the cost.
BUT hang on a minute........ ALL THE AIRLINES ARE IN ROUGHLY THE SAME BOAT ARE THEY NOT?
So the main cost that will hurt if the staying over in a hotel one.
The other cost will be partially or totally offset by passengers that were flying on other airlines booking with your airline.
Bottom line is this flight cancellation issue may not be financially as bad as one might think......................

So it looks like WorldQuant LLC increased their short by 0.8% on 30th June!!!! Seems like my guess was right. The drop was largely due to one Company's short. I presume some of the other market players noticed this and that if why the sp bounced back bt 6% on Friday!!

Provided the tourists return they will be able to pay interest, fuel costs and just about anything else. Note the price of Brent Crude has dived last week to $111. I think there was/is considerable pent up demand, especially those people who regularly go on cruises and have not been able to for more than 2.5 years.
With a bit of luck the market will push the sp North of £8.00 and we will see many short positions closing pushing the sp even higher. Fridays 7% upswing was welcome.
I'm positive for airlines and positive for the sea cruise industry. Massive pent up demand will out strip any general cost of living increases I think.

They need to just get the UK strike action behind them.
It may be that in the UK a lot of flights have been cancelled due to the airports not having anough staff or in other cases the airlines not having enough. However bottom line is the flights that are taking off are jam packed full of fare paying passengers. Also the staff wage bill will be less will it not?
Unless covid returns with a version that rivals delta the outlook is extremely good for all travel linked Companies. How could it not be?
I'm heavily in IAG and Carnival (a lot down with CCL) but it seems to me these Companies will bounce back massively in the next 3 months. Seems pretty obvious.

raking it in. I can't see the price of gas going down for the forseeable. Unless Mr Putin does some incredible u-turn, dies, or is overthrown I can't see the price of energy going anywhere but further up frankly. The Worls, unfortunately simply cannot do without Russian gas and oil. In fact the World cannot even replce a small amount of Russian oil or gas at the moment as far as I can see. Not good.

Shocking. I have a theory. They recently borrowed $1 billion with a 10% coupon. That loan was not secured on any CCL assets as far as I can see. I think whoever lent the money has taken out a massive short to reduce their risk. So if the sp falls they start to get profit. In effect they IMHO have hedged a very large part of the risk. Of course if the sp rebounds past about £7.90 their short is going to start to loose them money at a fantastic rate. They would have a level at which they might close it, and the sp would, I suppose rebound back the 10% or so it lost as the short is closed and they have to buy back in. Incidently the 6% rise Friday is mentioned in the UK's daily Mail along with other travel stocks that rebounded Friday.
It's not often I get annoyed playing this game but that one has really made my blood boil. Assuming I'm right I really hope a bid comes in and they get incinerated when the sp jumps to £15 a share before the bell one morning. In fact a bid of more like £20 a share I think would be appropriate as the cost to build up a Company like Carnival from scratch would be incredible. It is there for the taking.

So CCL has closed down 2.6% in USA today after gaining 14% last Friday.
IMHO it's highly unlikely CCL will be down tomorrow.
It is likely they will be up, and that trend will continue......

today should tell you something. Hint....... even if it had retreated say 3% I would think it good. Most shares go backwards after a 10% plus gain in just one day.
It's 2.6% down in the USA now but it was up 14% in the USA Friday. If it is say less than 4% down in the USA at close then I'd be confident the sp is going to start rising on almost a daily basis.
I now have 3 tranches, one bought today @ £7.98, and the same amout of shares as my previous two added together.
Holidaymakers are back. Airlines can't cope and Carnival has updated the market last Friday with the numbers. Shares don't go up 10% plus on bad news.
We will see.........
