Aviation fuel is made from Kerosene that comes from oil.
Therefore the ultimate cost of Aviation fuel simply must be affected by the price of the material it is made from....... oil.
Maybe you are correct in that the price is affected by other factors as well but if you are suggesting the price of oil does not untimately affect the cost of aviation fuel I believe you are mistaken.

I am obviously aware Aviation fuel, just like our petrol and diesel do not instantly go up or down with the price of crude. It takes weeks for the crude oil price fluctuations to affect the actual price of the fuels. From my experience with brent crude affecting the petrol price at the pump in the UK it is one to 2 weeks. I have no idea how long it is with aviation fuel. But I do know in time the difference is reflected in the price. So for the aviation fuel that is not hedged the recent fall in the price of crude can only be good for the airlines.

Maybe it's because British Airways pilots union have recommended the pilots accept BA's pay offer and I believe we are waiting for the result of the ballot? One would have thought the pilots will accept but there is always a chance they won't. Having said that if they do not accept it presumably the ball will be back in British Airways court to see if they will make a better offer.
I'm hoping for good news on this and the sp lurching up say 5%.
