After a possible bad reaction to aminoglycoside antibiotics? One would think making sure the hospital their baby is in tests for a bad reaction before the antibiotics are given would be a must. IMHO Genedrive's MT-RNR1 machine should be used in every neonatal ward on Earth, let alone just the UK. It seems so utterly obvious.

Test whether a baby is likely to have an allergic reaction to aminoglycoside antibiotics for only about £2k per machine and £100 per test. The baby thus avoiding potential total hearing loss. As with the stroke ward clop­ido­grel test machine machine now being trialed in Storno­way as per the folowing article. £2K is not a lot of money for any hospital. These machines are going to have rocketing sales this year IMHO. They are not expensive at all.

Hardly be better for promoting sales abroad. One presumes parents in all countries would welcome the test in all neonatal wards to avoid the possibility of a bad reaction to antibiotics resulting in the baby being rendered stone deaf. What more sales promotion information could youn possibly hope for?

Why on earth would a doctor choose the laboratory test route?

1. It is not available as there is no funding. LOL!

2. It takes several days, rather than about an hour for the Genedrive machine option.

3. It is more expensive and more time consuming. A blood sample needs to be taken, packaged up and sent by courier to gawd knows where. Several days until the result.

4. It is more dangerous. The Genedrive rapid 1 hour test needs only a cheek swab sample. The lab test needs a blood draw.

The people who suggest the lab route should be used are bias to an extent that might be criminal in my opinion. I wonder what ties they have to the Companies that carry out the lab tests? No-one in their right mind could conclude a lab test should sometimes be used.

This is fantastic. It did not occur to me both the Genedrive machines will be needed at remote hospitals in the whole of the United Kingdom. In fact what about British Overseas Territorys like Bermuda? There are 14 British Overseas Territories (BOTs), which are self-governing territories under the sovereignty of the UK, including Anguilla, Bermuda, Cayman Islands, Falkland Islands, Gibraltar, Montserrat, Pitcairn Islands, St Helena, Turks and Caicos, British Virgin Islands, British Antarctic Territory, British Indian Ocean Territory, South Georgia & South Sandwich Islands, and the Sovereign Base Areas (Akrotiri & Dhekelia) in Cyprus. As far as the market goes we have only touched the tip of the iceberg.

So if a cancer is at the stage where a lot of CTC's are the blood there seems to be a minimum of 80% likelyhood the result will match any tissue sample biopsy. Of course we are assuming the cancer has NOT changed since the original biopsy! What if the CTC analysis is 100% correct as the cancer has changed since the original biopsy???? Why is CTC DNA analysis (hours of a few days old looked at as being less accurate than a tissue sample analysis days, weeks or even months old?

So 4 months ago or so. The data they have to date should be interesting to say the least. I don't see how it is even possible for the data to not reveal valuable information about the ctc's. The main thing they seem to be after is comparing the results from the Parsortix CTC-DNA with matched patient tissue samples using Myriad's established assays. Do they match exactly? I doubt it as cancer cells are changing all the time; I doubt if they expect this at all. However what if the CTC analysis is MORE accurate than the old tissue sample analysis? Maybe, for example if you can catch several CTC's the average result of the analysis is more accurate than the original CTC analysis (whaich will always be days, weeks or even months older). Loads of possibilities. Also using Parsortix to catch the CTC's means the sample is as good as it gets. Myriad should be considering that new tests will be invented going forward.

So if you want to examine some to get UP TO DATE information about a opersons cancer I don't think you could possibly get any better. So many questions. How do we know CTC's are not a BETTER sample than a weeks old or more tissue sample? Or would it be at least good practice to test a number of CTC's to see if they show the cancer has NOT evolved since the tissue sample was taken making the intended treatment possibly useless? Also we know that Cellbxhealth's "dual analysis" for lung cancer finds about TWICE an many cancer biomarkers as CtDna analysis alone.......... The industry needs to snap out of this lethargic snails pace progress and get on with using dual analysis! Lastly Immatics have 3 cancer drug trials going on NOW that use ther Parsortix machine. So are Immatics a bit stupid? I think not. The official news is one of these trials has now moved to phase 3, and another one has moved to phase 2. What more does the market need to get the sp moving North?
