Thursdays announcement:- Launch of PD-L1 test to support cancer studies12 Nov 2023 15:38
This test is targeing a major market opportunity for Angle.
I found this on the WWW:-
"A PD-L1 test measures what percentage of cells in a tumor “express” PD-L1. Tumors that express high amounts of PD-L1 (50% or greater) may respond particularly well to checkpoint inhibitors (a type of immunotherapy drug).".
Also this:-
"Programmed death-ligand 1 (PD-L1) is the primary ligand of PD-1 and is constitutively expressed on antigen presenting cells, mesenchymal stem cells and bone marrow-derived mast cells. In addition, PD-L1 is also expressed on a wide range of tumor cells, including lung cancer, breast cancer and melanoma.".
As I understand it the test will enable highly accurate, repeatable, and precise results for CTC PD-L1 biomarker expression during cancer therapy studies. This should give studies quicker more accurate information about the treatment response. Then would give them the opportunity to adjust future treatments to make them more effective.
