In many ways. The lack of study of what happens to the circulating tumour cells (CTC's) during this process is nothing short of a total disgrace to the whole cancer treatment industry IMHO. These multibillion-dollar pharma Co's should be paying Angle Plc to monitor the CTC's when cancer drugs are trailed, before, during and after the trial. The feedback could be worth a fortune in itself. Only Eisai Inc. (top 100 Japanese Plc) have contracted Angle in this way so far. See RNS dated 2nd Jan 2024.

What with the Weill Cornell paper etc. it is increasingly obvious that far more cancer patients that might benefit from treatments that target HER2 positive cancer cells could be identified that currently are being missed. Eisai Inc. are currently running a cancer drug trial that IMHO will confirm this beyond any reasonable doubt.

It's just a matter of time until the sp here rockets. Hundreds of millions of pounds profit potentially. In time you may need to have a blood test processed by Angle plc, so the best cancer treatment is given.

For nurse/doctor to inject a weeks old baby with an antibiotic that might render it deaf for life just because the neonatal unit had not bought a Genedrive® MT-RNR1 ID Kit to perform the safety test to me is an unaccetable situation.

Could save any Company about to do a breast cancer drug trial a fortune. It's not only dangerous for the patient (to get a treatment that won’t work) but a huge waste of time and money treating someone with a cancer drug that targets say HER2 positive when their cancer has changed since the original biopsy to HER2 negative or vice versa. It seems to me this service alone would save Cancer drug trial Companies a fortune. I find the lack of take up of this service to date by Pharma Co’s nothing short of insane!! They might as well flush wads of £50 notes down the pan.

Obviously can't check whether the babies won't have a bad reaction to the antibiotic possibly rendering the baby completely deaf. This simply must be a huge worry for the staff in those hospital units. Also, obviously it will be of huge concern to the parents. The Hospitals can choose to use the Genedrive® MT-RNR1 ID Kit but must finance the use as I understand it. Pretty obvious what is going to happen if you ask me.

- How can the managers of the neonatal units NOT act to remove the risk?

- When the next baby loses it's hearing (it will happen) because the Genedrive test was not available how will the doctors and nurses feel? How do you tell a parent their baby is deaf because this neonatal ward has not got a Genedrive® MT-RNR1 ID Kit, but other neonatal units elsewhere in the Country do?.

Hello. Machines like Genedrives that can test a persons DNA for x, from just a cheek swab (not a blood test) are small, portable and easy to use. They cost a few thousand though. The prediction is that high street chemists will test to see if there is demand in the high street for this sort of service. The Chemists outlay would be not much. As things stand the customer would need to sign a disclaimer. Boots the Chemists have over 3000 branches in the UK alone.
