Well rough estimate of revenue based on 2k us per tonne assuming current resource estimates are correct is c3.9 billion dollars (1.94mt of concentrate). Obviously need to take off costs of operation and initial outlay, estimated at 65m for DMS and 154m for floatation plus cash costs per tonne of 474 from historic RNS leaves profit of around 2.7bn dollars. Of course I’m not expecting share price to be anywhere near that but proves the point we are hugely undervalued currently…

Hi Lav, quick qu here, if it is 330k tonnes per year at 2080 dollar per tonne according to RNS that makes revenue of 686 million dollars per year? That definitely doesn’t seem right, have I made a stupid calculation somewhere? Quite possibly I’ve not calculated that right…and must have surely.

V true, long term hold for sure. I’ve emailed KOD just to ask them their thoughts on Sorem. The news flow on this is pretty minimal so hard to understand clarity here. Could it be that maybe the government gain more of a foothold on Bougouni West perhaps? I genuinely don’t know, any thoughts appreciated…

I think the government gets between a 10 to 20 percent cut so well worth their while getting foreign investment in.

Some interesting reading, I think from the calcs on latest we were looking at price of 2k US per ton, currently around 4k US per ton so even if it drops I can’t see it long term dropping to sub 2k

Here is an interesting but long winded article about mining in Africa. To the prem posters posting negatively here you are not immune to this so don’t pretend Zimbabwe doesn’t have its risks too (albeit granted Mali is more unstable)

V true Lav, I hope Bernie can convert all the interest that is in the project (heard that a lot, right!) to actual funding. I’m sure he can as payback sub 2 months for anyone is incredible, and more likely to be less than that if current prices hold. Let’s hope he can get this done in Q1 2023 along with the license amend (and hopefully Mail government will approve it quickly), think it might be a struggle to mine it by end of 2023, but even if q1 2024, not a problem for me. Long term hold one hundred per cent.

Yes crumbles not a great RNS, a lot of people under the impression the license amend had been submitted but this is apparently going to be submitted in early 2023. The RNS basically told us nothing new and really wanted it to tell us about agreed financing. So a lot of people including myself feel let down a bit. However long term I’m still confident. Once financing is agreed (remember payback in under 2 months based on v conservative pricing), then kod will absolutely fly. That’s the last price in the jigsaw….

All these people who think they’re all experts are doing my nut in!
