Roundtable Discussion; The Future of Mineral Sands. Watch the video here.
Thanks Prof. Think the court case is on 11th as 9th is a Saturday. Nonetheless, there are only 2 working weeks between now and then.
The due diligence and arbitration funding decision has been worth the wait and has exceeded expectations. An extra, huge dollop of pressure has just been added to GoR.
Good reminder re: Cascades.
I'd hope for a more meaningful update re: LCM funding in the next few working days than the previous ones - another round of "look, we really mean it this time, honest" would reduce credibility without additional context.
2 previous extensions which coincidentally expired a day after their respective court dates, and now a very short, 1-week extension.
Regardless of the external discussions regarding JVs, out of court settlements, etc. I think Panthera is rapidly running out of can kicking opportunities re: the due diligence outcome.
I'm not expecting an RNS today (but would be pleasantly surprised to get one) - Monday appears more likely based on previous performance.
The key thing for me in this next RNS is whether Panthera continues to indulge the Govt of Rajasthan by deferring the outcome of the LCM due diligence until after the next court date, or if its announced to provide more public pressure on them instead.
@Prof, Mark has successfully negotiated his way through the Indian judicial system previously - what do you think would be an acceptable share to the Govt which would satisfy both parties? 49%?
The State want this wrapped up sharpish, and Panthera is taking its time to get all its ducks in a row before concluding.
Will be interesting to see if tomorrow's update on LCM is another can kick down the road.
Interesting times though!
