Agree about the sadness of 1700+/- miners losing their jobs. That is mega harsh in the SA context. I'ii say no more on that topic. It's not in SA's interest if the outcome of the mining charter, punishment for health and safety issues long ago and threats of land expropriation without compensation cloud the air with negativity. Just coming back from visiting, the country is doomed if there is no investment. The Public Pensions are invested here, so is Cyril (I think) and definitely Alan Gray. It's sad Evander is doomed but one cannot run loss making ventures in this cut-throat world. It would need a massive new unaffordable investment to continue (a new shaft). I prefer to look towards the future where I am convinced POG will move upwards. PAF has the resources to produce what they say they will produce per annum in Oz, and at low all in cost for the next 30 years. This share will bounce back. Presently, the Rand-$ exchange is also seems more favourable. Grounds for optimism.

Yes, agree that the RNS is important and I think the company has fretted to deliver this - finally. i.e. to close the loss making mine. It would take approximately a Billion Rand to sink a new shaft as the existing access is a long distance from where the gold comes from! Great they are cutting their losses and now focus on lower cost delivery! We should now steadily rise from the 50% drop, imho!
