Good luck Lennie and as this is such a stable share (really!!!), I mean good fundamentals then, if you can make a buck elsewhere and come back to buy on a dip, then that is a great strategy. I am not a trader and tend to fall in love with a share, a bad strategy, LOL! So will have to be satisfied with just a Dividend! The POG has moved side ways for so long now, its depressing! Trump does not even seem to have a positive effect with a late night tweet, LOL! So what does it take to make the POG rocket to $1400? I wonder? Which "Black Swan"?

I think it important to know who is in charge here and how they feel about a Zim recovery. As much has been said by the current lead. I suspect he will walk the election! As Stalin said, "It matters not who votes but who controls the election box is more important" (or something like that!). I have a good feeling about Zimbabwe. Will never be squeeky clean or a Singapore but I think the outlook is far, far better now than for SA! CMCL is a well managed company with GREAT prospects, particularly if the POG picks up to 1400! New shaft and more gold produced..... I will hanging here for my Dividend anyway and watch it move northwards as its done over the last year anyway! To follow Alan Gray cannot be wrong, imho!

seer, was interesting to read in one of the London newspapers (Metro or Standard?) that the Goldman Sach's boss says the world is stable and that stocks are "safe" versus George Soros feeling that a shock is forthcoming. So who does one believe? Also Gorman felt that at least two further rises in interest rates in the USA is going to happen. Has it not happened in the past that the raising of interest rates have brought on recession? I am into many poorly performing shares as I wait for news on resource updates or having to bear the brunt of a side ways precious metal market, probably highly manipulated by the big players (whoever that may be!). I will look at PMO for a play. Thanks! Silver holding above $16!

ragnarlothbrok, you seem to have a good understanding of the complexities of issues there! High risk and hope my investment here works! But then, one of my biggest fears is anc logic! The party is more important than the copuntry itself and a gigantic juggernaut that finds it difficult to make quick sensible decisions. Even Cyril cannot simply fire anybody without consensus by far too many!

These Union men are hard negotiators. I read other worrying signs for old SA. How about the anc wanting to nationalise the Reserve Bank? At least Cyril says it should remain independent (for now). With the opposition overcoming their zuma hangover (their biggest electoral asset now gone), I worry that a totally incompetent anc will rapidly turn SA into a new Zimbabwe, but with civil unrest as land is taken away. First the Mining Charter. On the positive side, the Rand is weakening and the POG may be recovering with the Italian Job stirring things up!

Suddenly the global scenario under goes a change with Italy teetering on a new election and possible questions about their participation in the Euro experiment. Suddenly world debt comes back into focus and so it will or must mean precious metals get's another consideration by investors (imho!). Trouble is, the USD has strengthened a tad of late. I think we are just entering interesting times! Hope my precious metal investments that have suffered of late, will pick up again, LOL! HOC's is a good place to be! For now.

seer, so much Side-ways movement on the silver price and for that matter gold. Something must give us a break soon, imho! Silver has held its value above $16 rather well of late. Are the big boys ready to manipulate us upwards again soon?

Mulder, I missed this speech and if they institute a "use or lose principle" then it will be like government running SAA!. If something is not economically viable, then sooner or later it will close down. Will not be good for mining as a whole. Must be an anc lack of understanding capitalism? Does not sound good, imho. Who will want to invest with such a degree of government interference? How are we going to get traction here if there is continually a sword overhanging business?

Lovely indeed to see you back on this share, seer! It's been bumbling along in a narrow range for a few days after dropping below 200 a while back. I agree, the tide must turn and HOC's is undervalued. Interesting that the POS never really dropped below $16? Gold just does seem to want to climb the next leg up but, as you say, if Trump keeps meddling, anything is possible! LOL! Hope you have been keeping well?

Mulder, maybe Cyril's "move purposely but slowly" on corruption is a good start? Nene, is holding a tight rein on public spending, another good move. So many crooks, the net is wide or going to have to be! But sadly the courts move at a snails pace, LOL! Cyril by the way is SA's first president with skills in business (never mind other great skills like keeping the Anglo boys on their toes in debate!). I worry more about the polarisation of society and blame the failing anc of the zuma era of making this worse by not taking education seriously. After all, if he could make it without education so should the rest!

Just another point of view regarding these road blocks in SA. Some seem to be orchestrated and part of mob-rule to destroy property and raid the contents of the trucks which cannot make U-turn on a road or highway. Lack of rule of law and of course the high unemployment fuels this on. The Mooi River debacle is a prime example.

Mulder, how can one find out if the work force at Barberton are near strike action? I've heard whispers in the wind. If this is true then this will very much affect gold production and hence the 40% drop. Workers rights are at an unsustainable level in SA, imho.

Agree, Toro! Your last post (in fact the majority of your posts!) was interesting indeed! I read somewhere that even the Aussie Western gold belt (now they claim Pilbara has more gold than the Witwatersrand had!) could be included possibly be part of this Birimian belt.

Bargain buys at that price as well as the PIC buy-in. Good dividend income for PIC. Rand seems to be continuously weakening versus $ but POG closed low at $1284 or something. As would be expected, the workers union are up in arms with the retrenchment! All things being equal, the tide must turn for PAF, bargain buy at these prices!
