Reading today that no gp's ever turn down a not fit for work certificate due to mental illness...it really is a conundrum and concern..there are definitely some who genuinely need help and I feel for them..however the gp refers them to mental health services and it can take up to 3 yrs to be seen...having 5 grandchildren now oldest 14 yrs youngest 6 months.....I try my best to extol the virtues of work as much for self esteem as financial gain....did covid play a major part in this ?.

Talking of funding ....Families of failed asylum seekers will be offered up to £40,000 to leave the UK under a trial scheme announced by Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood.
