Bird...its a tricky one in some respects...during covid many kids got addicted to their phones,playstations etc ....ive seen it ..my friends son 17 now had trouble for a while leaving the house...anyways taking hes a levels now @ 19.....the gps are pushing the resposibility onto the MH service which is overwhelmed and they are very wary of making a decision re diagnosis in case they make a terrible mistake and get heavily sued....sure the system is being abused which is a disgrace.....a million young this is a real concern and the impact will get worse over the coming years....gl &atb

Reading today that no gp's ever turn down a not fit for work certificate due to mental illness...it really is a conundrum and concern..there are definitely some who genuinely need help and I feel for them..however the gp refers them to mental health services and it can take up to 3 yrs to be seen...having 5 grandchildren now oldest 14 yrs youngest 6 months.....I try my best to extol the virtues of work as much for self esteem as financial gain....did covid play a major part in this ?.

Talking of funding ....Families of failed asylum seekers will be offered up to £40,000 to leave the UK under a trial scheme announced by Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood.

Mahmood said the government would seek to forcibly remove failed asylum seekers if they do not accept "incentive payments" of up to £10,000 per person, capped at four per family, within seven days......................................doesnt look like a deterrent to me....people getting treated in corridors.....people are concerned....the most generous and good spirited people i know are concerned.....gla
