morning livestock...a friend of mine owns a estate agents ...very recently 3 buyers dropped the offer by 2-5 % very close to exchange ...2 sellers accepted the lower offer.....plus the interest rate increases takes quite a bit of time to filter through to the housing market fully...gl atb

Buying oversold dividend paying shares is the way forward for me as ive stated a few times recently .....the problem is what level can be deemed oversold..lol

Theo yes that was the point of this thread that the chief weapon in the BofE armoury battling inflation is interest rates....im always wary of political interference regards interest rate decisions......it seems truss knows the BofE has no other option....i stiil dont feel bailey will go 75bps but i dont rule it out.

theo.. not just our govt inflation is a global problem..caused my many factors as you know gl

saying this morning that its the BofE's job to reduce inflation.....a green light to more aggressive rate rises... possibly ?

the dax index closed @13050 and th ig weekend mkt is showing 12708 ish middle so over 300 points down ....ftse 7281 close and ig wk end mkt 7213 ish ...so this russian move is already showing an impact......this is going to escalate as russia are only going to increase the use /supply of energy as a weapon....next week will be interesting not least on our own political front...on a personal front i will be again looking at dividend paying companies that look oversold ....gla.

There are many sides to the cash argument because many if not all have used cash to avoid some tax in one form or another...is that the right thing to do ...the jurys out ......however some people have used cash to avoid paying any tax at all ...which is plainly wrong gla
