Food inflation all over europe ..in a recent article about a basket of 23 goods France was found to be dearest @£67.57..germany cheapest @£47.25.......the UK Came in @£51.72 ..cheaper than france spain and italy....the article is on the bbc website from a week ago cannot seem to post the link.....food/everday goods inflation is everywhwere....

Good morning HU ..thanks for the link ...the rental market and home building projects seems to be a large investment choice for many large institutions....lloyds,L&G,Aviva etc etc....it seems the whole rental market is changing ...gl.

Plenty of data next week here and the states including the fomc ........the jury really is out in the US regarding another hike in june plenty of people are saying they wont increase interest rates..we will see......very quiet this week atm in the markets i feel ....hoping for a bit more energy next week.........hoping/praying that the next crucial stage of the awful war in ukraine goes very much the way of the very courageous ukranians .....gla.

Re America....on the 79th anniversary of the D Day landings i am very proud and grateful for our ongoing relationship with the USA ...thousads of americans were killed or injured during those landings alone.....lets not forget the first world war as well whre mony thosands of americans lost their lives.......we forget all too quickly.......i wonder in the modern world whether countries like taiwan or israel would exist without support from the USA i doubt it....... yes they have made mistakes much like the UK buti would rather have a special relationship with the USA than russia or china or iran etc......gla.

Chips I think you may find they would get help ie pension credit ,housing benefit etc etc..and so they should if their only income is £12570....gl.

Brix...ive no idea..but to move tax free amount from £12570 to £15000 would probably cost the treasury a vast amount.....with state pension increase pensioners paying more tax now from savings outside of isa ....
