I don't see the pause in mining as proof of an early settlement. They're just doing what is best for them.
Any reparations India are forced to pay to PAT (plus legal fees) will still be cheaper for them than what they'll get out of it by letting an Indian firm mine it.
And from their perspective, if they settle early with us, it'll encourage the other firms who have lost out thanks to the same law to open litigation. At least in court they have a (very slim) chance of winning and the delays are off putting for the other firms.
I wonder though if LCM is going to reach out to those firms to possibly represent them too...
R:E Faskens, they are industry leaders just like LCM and one of the reasons I was confident investing here. They continued to work with us when we were low on cash in good faith, they know we've got a great case.
