As I have said before, this is my first gold / metal share. Am much more used to O&G.

I would like to look at some comparators to try and understand how the market values metal mining companies.

Just because of its exciting rise I thought I would start with GGP. Any other suggestions or anyone want to tell me why GGP is a bad comparison?

I am delighted for SCIR that they are doing well with HE1. I also hope they can hang in there and make some money with AEX and APT. They have been loyal partners to AEX and helped us emormously in the dark days with actual cash injection.

Fwiw, I do not believe comparisons of share price between the two companies are particularly helpful. They just underline that the market is consistently not putting much value on our gas in Ruvuma. But we know that! The Helium story is hot at the moment. It is blue sky potential for SCIR. But it does not assist with valuation for AEX. IMHO.

You will do well from here. A whole summer of drilling, results and production plans. When to take profit isnt going to be easy but then it never is.

Yes, alcapone. I understand the licence has expired. Not expecting an issue. But would be good to tick that box.

Very informative. I still cannot get over the spread of risk across such a number pf prospects. One vein proved up plus the commercial tailings business. But what if the other drillbits strike too? I need to lie down. ;)

Interesting point, Dave. Never occurred to me that they would prove up and sell on as opposed to mining. But you are right. They might, though I dont believe the Company have said that.

Whatever, the discovery, proving up and then next stage is going to involve a mcap multiples of this one.

Lab results from 2 weeks (mid May) and through summer....

Historically every seismic and re-appraisal has increased reserves/resources. Sometimes very significantly.

But I dont see (fwiw) this seismic as being targetted at reserves. I think it is about final drill locations and a road map to full field development. So a bit more boring (though necessary) but with the potential to be exciting (re reserves).

Given how many shares I own already it is incredible to me that I am kicking myself for missing out on more at 0.4p and below (though have some at that level). The psychology of shares. Go figure.

Btw and off topic, GWMO (which I hold) just had great news this morning re gold exploration. Very low market cap. Lots of newsflow into summer for drilling and production programme. Brial Hall and Andrew Hay are there. Very exciting. Have a look.

And I agree. This is a high risk high reward share and not for the widows and orphans (states the obvious). But its the multiple targets that I like. The risk is spread across a large number of potential income producing projects and one (the tailings) is already said to be commercial. So for me the reward side heavily outweighs the risk side.

I have been wondering about this too. I am much more familiar with O&G drilling.

So my question is, assuming the Company wanted the maximum number of announcements and as soon as possible what is the earliest we coul dsee newsflow start from the drillbit?

In O&G you know the estimated depth, the feet per day the drillbit can do etc etc. Is there a similar yardstick here?

I think it is just people positioning themselves. Lots of people (me included) wondering when was the time to buy more. The dip below 0.4p triggered a lot of buys and one person in particular (Sadaat Umar) on twitter bought loads. Which triggered more buys, or at least thats my belief.

Anyone who knows anything about Aminex knows it is way underavlued and will be worth a lot more by January (assuming it stays on track). So just time passing and that tipping point event coming closer will make the marker buy.

Same happens everywhere. The other stock I compare is IOG. Also fully funded with a major farmed in, just now building the thing and then income onstream from Q3. It has doubled. Both are complete no brainers as far as I am concerned. In Aminex (as I keep saying) the only risk is political/regulatory and I have always assessed that as low risk (fwiw). And it looks like the business environment is getting better under the new regime. Really is just patience and time passing. The farmout changed the AEX risk profile massively.

The real issue is what is it worth on CH1 spud date? Still no real idea of the answer but multiples of this price in any event.

It is interesting. We know some big buyers have been buying but no news from company yet. So yes, could just as easily fallback if the buying stops. But I am now talking like a trader (which I am not) and all I know is that anything around these levels (and even several multiples higher) is a cheap will make significant profit.

Totally agree.

My request for broker targets was only as shorthand for discussion with my friend. And because this is a very difficult share to value into the future. Complicated, multi-phase business model. At least complicated for me. As I said, I am a buyer at these levels not a seller.
