I believe the finalisation of IO9 could be a major turning point in the fortunes of IOF and the SP. So much has recently turn in our favour, oil well activity has increased brine supplies, iodine price knocking on historic highs, demand for iodine and increased demand for derivatives. I expect iodine out for the year will be raised as plants recieve brine that wasn't predicted 4 months ago.
The SP has lagged behind and needs to catch up, could be exciting times ahead.

Good luck with your trial, I think the small trades are coming from the commission free platforms like e toro and 500plus. I've seen with another share and it stopped after a while then come back, it depends whats is discussed on the bulletin boards like Reddit.

I don't think a buyout is on the cards in the near future and not before Paraguay is drilled. Trafigura has its own problems at the moment as it was one of the main exporters of Russian oil and commercial ties with state-aligned Rosneft Oil.
