Just looked at the London Stock Exchange site and there are trades but no indication of whether they are buys or sells.

From the email, it doesn't look like they're saying much. If they said they definitely were - or definitely weren't - going to split, that might well be different - and be market sensitive.

I also notice the word 'war' is used.

That's a very dangerous move (or reckless error?) for any Russian citizen to make, but this guy looks like he may be safely residing in the UK for the time being.

Thank you for correcting us. But I'm sure you also realise, as has been pointed out here on numerous occasions, that sanctions of some form have been in place since Russia annexed Crimea in 2014 - that's 8 years or so already.

When are you stating that all sanctions will be removed?

(Liz Truss on sanctions: it's surely a transparent negotiating ploy, and probably not even the Russians would naively believe that sanctions would be removed in their entirety. The objective of any rational state threatened by Russia would be to ensure they can't - or have no desire to - attack for the next, say, 50 years or so. That will take time.)

Someone here posts that Kazakhstan has many nuclear weapons (and so wouldn't be easy pickings for Russia), and 5 minutes later big-blue points out (correctly) that they have the same number as Ukraine i.e. none.

Basically, it doesn't know exactly how many have returned, and says so.

Once China has "captured" Russia by becoming one of Russia's (very) few large customers (and by far the biggest and now effectively an irreplaceable customer) China is potentially in an extremely powerful position to apply immense downward pressure on prices, and perhaps able to exert some control over Russia.

Russia has little choice but to tie themselves to China for the foreseeable future - for better or for worse.

I do miss their daily updates of how the war must end in the next few days due to the economic effects, and that anyone who says otherwise is being irrational and emotional. Well, sort of miss them.

Seems to me that the current tax receipts are merely a function of high commodity prices, and certainly not from any intelligent moves by Russia,. They could be higher still if they didn't need to discount them to sell to a more limited number of buyers who have an increasing power over them e.g. isn't Russia nothing more than China's European fuel station - but only while it suits China?
And a high RUB:USD exchange rate is disadvantageous when converting back into RUB, as has mentioned by others here.
