As you admit yourself you knew nothing about mining and I’m afraid your main argument about us not having a main share holder does not hold up at all.
I’ve said before if we go to production I’ll be happy also, higher rewards, just down the line.
However there is a reason this is the only tier 1 not in majors hands, yet!
Majors usually get what they want over smaller companies, did you not read the article by Barrick CEO explaining how conglomeration will happen.?
If BHP and NCM made a joint bid they already have 35% if CGP agree to it.
Therefore this 35% is very significant IMO.
I’d say your weakest argument for your production theory is that we have too a diverse share register.
The main issue is finding such a huge mine, which is why majors almost always get these assets.
If we were to get a complete funding package to fund it then the situation changes significantly, until that comes we are vulnerable to sale for all the obvious reasons re how take overs work. .
