I only brought up the (sqz / kist) comparison because so many on here continue to do so but in a totally unrealistic irrelevant way.
I hold well over a million shares now and continue to be disappointed with the self congratulatory "management" team never endingly crapping on about jam tomorrow, which also never seems to arrive.
I only continue to hold from a portfolio spread of risk(s) perspective and just wish they could over deliver on some of their glossy technical presentation forecasts.

I'd definitely take it (55p) but that is because I want to buy other stock elsewhere - which just goes to show why take-overs can occur "so low" (II's have different POV's regarding value and investment criteria) and why people like AA try and "chance" it?
I will definitely be selling in early NY or post two "appraisal" wells anyway - whichever is the earlier - regardless of price for the above reason?

I certainly don't think they'll have the authority to "sell short", equally they will need the cash to purchase them as well and I doubt they will want to exceed 30% holdings either, lol!
So a bit of "clever" financial instrument required to help them with this conundrum.

Take a look at equivalent pro rated energy costs to gdp per person in Africa and other developing nations then see hiw "expensive" we are. The west has constantly bullied and manipulated oil prices for years profiting from other countries only assets.
Whilst I fully appreciate that energy orices are scarily high for a lot of people, we in the west have had it so good for so long without realising how privileged we were.
This will be one of the many costs of the decline if the Western empire. We have never had it so good and it is down hill all the way from here.

1. market doesn't trust management to deliver Southwark without further cluster f's.
2. concern regarding further tax rises
I find it all very galling because as pointed out on here recently during CV19 debacle, O&G were suffering intolerably without support due to market forces - now due to same market forces and years of ridiculous government policy we are getting taxed to f (unfairly - compared to Apple / Amazon etc.)
Stupid (or are they clever?) politicians think it is acceptable to justify to uneducated people that taxes are the answer because comparable increases in rest of Europe are significantly lower than UK but that is partially offset by the fact that energy prices in Europe were starting from a higher point of sale price in the first place!
Lastly, what really f's me off is these same uneducated people are up in arms about the cost of energy (still relatively cheap compared to rest of world - we've had it way to cheap for way too long) and they cheer on footballers paid ridiculous salaries and very low tax - every f'ing week-end!!

You can often tell someone from the company they keep. Its good to see the intellectual pygmy Selfish McNimby has latched on to David S as she is one of the stupidest posters I have ever come across. I was a holder over on EOG (which I bought in spite of the management - and it just irks her that I managed to make some money) and with some of the EOG stooges on there, who simply did not understand a thing about the E&P business, they have collectively lost a lot of money - which they wouldn't have - had they listened to me - however that's for another day! To anyone who knows me - to infer I am an eco-moron is so stupid it is absolutely beyond words!!
David you don't really come across as "very direct" - you appear as a rude ignorant person to be honest - but that's just my opinion. You have absolutely no idea about my E&P experience but, suffice to say I have done very well out of the business retiring in late forties through my own choice. So what's your background - you don't strike me as being a real engineer - perhaps an "Environment Engineer" lol? To be clear the management here have been found very wanting - from corporate structure through to operations management - and anyone with E&P industry experience can see that Many old pals and I have had a laugh about the drilling debacle - not so much the original issue - the appearance of the lack of plan B's and C's (or any contingency plans to be honest) - so really interested to hear why you think you are entitled to criticise people - who you have absolutely no knowledge of what they have achieved in life?
As I say buddy if you don't like what people say - filter them then you can have s stress free life!!
I am never normally arrogant enough to filter anyone - as I may hear something useful about a stock or an idea / concept that hadn't occurred to me - but probably will have to with Selfish - as she really doesn't have a clue about anything at all in life - sadly!! I think the share price dropped as the "results" hadn't hit the hyperbole (Paulfoolery) that implied "better" results however to say it wasn't commercial, is incorrect. All IMHO, DYOR and "pub talk". (Copyright dunders).
