Desmond - can I ask why?

Five observations, me being a pessimist this is how I think and hoping all of these issues are able to be permanently solved.
1. It is two wells in two fields - wtf is taking so long? Do they already know and as per, are holding back on it? I'd like to know EXACTLY when this issue became known to them ("early" July).
2. Maybe none f'ed up, maybe one (hopefully the smaller) but just cannot be two surely? Are any issues temporary or the solution not really worth doing as it will still have further risks and not worth trying? We need to be told.
3. Then if one of these is f'ed up what is to say the Southwark is not the same?
4. My only consolation is BH are here and they are not mugs.
5. No matter how bad - at the end of the day - (non) communications around this issue have caused so much angst for the share-holders of this company and definitely need improving.
As ever all IMHO and DYOR - still holding - and realise I am probably in a relatively luxurious position compared to a lot of holders on here - and truly sorry to see all the suffering going on. It is really not acceptable. Very best of luck all.

I wrote earlier about possibly buying more at 15p and reserving the right to change this when 15p does arrive as I probably didn't really expect this to be the case anyway!
Now I am starting to get worried and am not so sure I will purchase then either - if it does go that low - which has to be really bad case scenario surely!
It is absolutely disgraceful and should have sold the moment Fiona Mc arrived as was very concerned about this - above and beyond the atrocious ops / other management here.
Truly best of luck all - as ever - hopefully things are better than we think - but the nagging doubt is that they aren't. (!)

Jeans totally agree except IOG falling a little more each day than its peer group. Also without stating obvious but peer group falling from much higher equivalent share prices. " Weaker" companies tend to be impacted more by "market corrections" than the stronger ones!! As ever all IMHO AND DYOR. Also best of luck all and still holding before I get accused of de-ramping.

To answer an earlier observation, doesn't everyone regret buying shares in this crappily run company?!
I do chuckle sometimes at all ridiculous wide boy, "not of the same calibre as IOG management" and such like, comments about Andrew Austin on here! I hooe Kist is one if the comparator companies for Ltips!

Aligator when I first saw that RNS I thought we'd see 15p on drifting. I may buy more then but the usage is that if they hit that then we probably are I serious trouble, LOL!!
Before anyone accuses me of de ramping, the market can be illogical and I haven't sold any of my shares!!

Sound proximity to buildings etc should all have been covered previously in HSE permitting. This person(s) is mire likely testing independently adherence(s) to the various permitting. If they're going vack reinventing the wheel we may as well expect minimum 4-6 months. I worked In a jurisdiction offshore where there was a final check report built into the government agreement depending upon circumstances, this was utilised due to timing if and not much offshore work back then but it was high level review of concept plus adherence box ticking. I suppose we just have to grit our teeth because it will be what it is in the end??!! I found it weirdly cathartic sounding off this morning and am now more relaxed!!

I'm absolutely of the view we should have an RNS soon - I don't like the way it was "sneaked" into the half yearly report and it has been a long time "known" about - just a few days after that awfully nice gentleman gave the investors presentation I can only assume? I agree it is a potentially complex problem but this is two wells into two different fields - they've got to know something by way of an update now surely? It was obviously material news - look at the share price since and I still cannot understand why it only suddenly became material at the time of the half yearly report - so following the fact it did appear to have a material effect on the share price I think we should be kept regularly updated as to remedial work on this - or am I being unfair requesting this? As ever all IMHO and DYOR.

I previously suggested that we would hear something by end of next week and will be disappointed if not. An RNS update rather than informal chat looks to needed soon (ie by end of next week?) to clarify what is taking so long or if zmything further required as a result of this "unexpected" study !! All IMHO and DYOR!

Thanks very much much for that report mjh and very interesting which helps to possibly explain the salinity issues. Thanks too to SpaA regarding reply, I am assuming the filtration referred was the salt deposits as per report from mjh.
My concerns are less about the salinity and more about what I remembered was the unexpectedly high AND saline produced water. Maybe my memory fails me or maybe poorly written but it was the reference to unexpectedly high (and blah blah saline) PRODUCED water. Take out the reference to saline and read unexpectedly high produced water, that they have been aware of since early July. They refer to expecting some priduced water but this is unexpectedly high? The inferences to date appear to be this is isolated and can be blocked. I certainly hope so as well but, am concerned this has been known about since early July and we still have no update? I'm just a bloody pessimist I suppose?! As ever all IMHO and DYOR.

Pipe dragger thanks for your response. When you comment saline level is not uncommon what are the common causes and how often is "common" for a producing on a loose percentage basis would you say? Also how long would it normally take to find the isolated areas in these zones? Thanks for any guidance.

I was told that by a person who worked on one of these drilling vessels. There is a filtration in one spot of the well, if they find the exact point, which is difficult, the long-term solution is cementing or adding extra casing to that area. That area may also produce some gas, but at least you prevent the ingress of the high salinity water. The simplest solution is the one they have mentioned, to adapt the equipment onshore, but at the cost of higher OPEX

SpA - filtration on one spot in the well - I am not sure I understand this point but I am assuming it is where the well is actually producing and not in cased section whereby saline fluids are somehow ingressing due to poor cement job?
I assume if this is the "permanent" "solution" the team have conducted a risk analysis, that this issue does not spread to other areas of productive well? Good to hear some information though but would really appreciate what you understand as to the word "filtration" as this could mean one thing to you as explained and perhaps mean something different to another person? It's probably a bit of both. lower quartile contractor team (who wants to work on small / "marginal" stuff?) followed by lower quartile supervision / management here at IOG, who don't really have enough experience of projects of this nature? We can only hope for surprising good news and I'll happily hold my hands up as a miserable twat!
