So I see "pinky and jerky" managed to get Apache banned at last. What about all the simply ridiculous conspiracy posts on here? Serious question : shouldnt people get banned for posting silly theory posts that have absolutely no value to add to this bb as well then? Why was Apache banned when all he did was reply in similar vein to how he was referred? Do people not realise that only positive ramping threads do more harm than good? Very sad.

Who knows where we are at the moment but realistically every day the deal does not get done is 1. Either one more day closer to its success or, 2. One more day closer to its failure? Up until end of December I'm fine with this wait but I will become more and more crestfallen as we advance into January? As ever all imho and dyor.

He he, famous last words OtF. The Irish farm out has not failed until end of January I'd say but if it does, then lots more further share price weakness possible?! CP this is exactly my point re solo and mgt. I'm assuming you are talking solo position 're funding post ch1? Assuming good well they will be able to sell out completely or farm down from a MUCH BETTER position than aex. Tarry it us much better to use the filter mate. People waste too much time arguing about non points laced with way too much emotion. I don't often agree with uwe but I do agree that filtering helps a lot with the old blood pressure. Exactly makes some sense in that the local regional manager gets everything agreed and signs off on the proviso the deal crystallises. Then HO can sign off so if this is the company then hopefully some good news soon? My only proviso is that they (EOG) have described the company involved as being a major? Vermicelli are what under 100k bbks a day? I'd hardly refer to that as major hence I have a 'feeling' it is another company? Just my own opinion and as ever dyor!!

Ah ok Tac, re super major CPPIB, I hear what you're saying but there is wealth of difference between an investment fund and an o&g company!! I know of at least two venture capitalist type companies who had promoted wells (absolutely no real operated experience) who had to be 'helped' out by one of the partners because I think on one occasion they even lost the well!! On the other they were just so rubbish I think the partners had to step in to help them!! Of course information like that is never rns'd!! However I do see your point that appears they (CPPIB) do seem to be supportive for long term investment in this region and a great backer for the region? If it is Vermicelli pet I'd have thought that we would have farm in approval from them by Xmas as I'd have thought they were small and agile enough to have pretty fast decision making? Lots of 'thought(!)' there though! So here's hoping for a nice Xmas present!! As ever all above imho and dyor!

Mj152 we have absolutely no evidence whatsoever that the 'authorities' have been incompetent so could you caveat that as being in your opinion unless you have some facts to hand to justify such a statement which you may well have (and I apologise if this is the case) which I was not aware of?

Pp I'd be incredibly worried if a site survey for a frontier exploration well tipped the npv to the right side! I'd have tweaked down some of the costs to avoid a (short term) damaging placement like this!! If it was necessary to get across the potential farminee economics again, I wouldn't even bother looking at such a project. I think it is more down to timing. The weather window is pretty tight and there will be a lot of bureaucracy to get a well approved for 2020 timetable (bearing in mind current known circumstances) imho.

Think it's just a timing thing. Hopefully just a red herring!! All imho of course.

Anthony in my experience it would be very strange to get turned down by HO in these circumstances? Normally though it is the other way round? HO have already approved the signatory ahead of signing? There must have been many communications in order for regional manager to sign off with confidence? Or does this massive oil company delegate this authority to their regional managers to sign off on multiple deals then HO allocates the capital spend approval from there?!! My experience is that a regional manager would not be allowed to sign off on such an agreement unless written approval (sometimes spoken but I wouldn't personally be happy with that!!) had already been approved by HO. Then, they could sign off with the proviso they are only delegated say $50mm commitment spend and HO have to 'dual sign' to fully approve the $75mm that the contract anticipates and the second higher signature would be required on the farm down agreement? All imho of course.
