Would prefer it was aligned to the broker targets of 190p+ by 2025, but good to have the incentive no?
ExE 2022 Contract RNS 2 Feb 2022: “AFC Energy's involvement in Extreme E continues to provide an important platform to demonstrate the Company's sustainable clean energy system”… debranding from AFC needs clarification!
Wasn’t the Altaaqa RNS around 11am, on a Friday as it happens. Wouldn’t rule out news at any time.
“Due to global supply chain challenges experienced by many industries at present, we have made early investments into the purchase of long lead items so that when finalised we are in a position to embark upon a sizeable initial production run of hybrid units for customers.”
Project materials £2.6m, project spend £4.3m (of £8.6m total costs just reported). That’s a good thing to see.
On the subject of Kiro Tamer at Keltbay, he’s clearly a hydrogen/green ammonia believer:

Thanks for sharing this Nick. Of all the things for Frank Muehlon to focus on in his quote on this, I’m very encouraged by this line:
“With access to the full breadth of our charging portfolio, we are ensuring that Shell can select the most appropriate solution for every use case, helping to get more people charging regardless of their location.”
Jim, Alt, Beachandsurf, Doc, Eddie, Tretrolite et al, thanks for your AGM posts, always grateful for comments you’re able to share on here and thanks for the presentation link too Alt, useful to see.
Urban Airport runs until 15 April.
15 April: Our Wilder Family - a spectacular artist-led drone show inspired by the movements of flocks of birds, will take to the skies above the city. The show – which at sixteen-minutes is the UK’s longest drone display to date - is created by the world famous ‘artivists’ Celestial and explores the family of wildlife around us and our role in protecting the planet.

Fingers crossed some further PR potential. Either way, Air One is going to create some noise itself.
Good to re-read the appointment or Dr Randell a year ago and his possible hand in all this:

From Power Cube and Dyson to Power Tower!
Also, Glastonbury and other festivals now surely?!
Yes fantastic, just to write it out:
Ammonia is cost competitive on a total cost of ownership basis, calculated based on a 25,000hr system life AFC is 1/4 the cost of a PEM cell running at 100kwh output, where 65% of cost was fuel cost.
Plus ammonia’s strength as a fuel dense power, in a liquid form in a 40’ container would create 15x more power on a kwh generated basis through a fuel cell compared to a 40’ container of hydrogen gas at 200bar pressure.
Welcome news on a day like today, thanks for sharing, including “integration of new fuel-cell and battery technology.”
First thought on seeing this was WTAF!?
https://new.abb.com/news/detail/88060/abb-and-ballard-reach-milestone-toward-fuel-cell-powered-marine-transport
Their AiP is for 3mw vs 1.2mw with AFC & VARD. ABB have been working with Ballard since 2018 on this, and with VARD AFC came in to that particular project in June 2021 and got it approved in 6 months. So, PEM vs. AFC/ammonia. Guess the race is on, who will be first to actually sell it…
They had two batteries for Bovington too, seems a similar release/set up to Dec race:
https://www.dorsetecho.co.uk/news/19735588.st-helena-ship-arrives-poole-extreme-e/
But what/where was the bit about AFC powering 2,000 homes (?) each race weekend?
Do ExE own the fuel cell? I think so but not sure. But do they know how to run it? Service it? It’s not fully autonomous unlike ABB’s intentions, so unless they have something else to pull out the bag it’s a no brainer surely we’re going the distance with ExE into 2022. News would be welcome I agree, I’m wondering if it will also be bundled with greater ambitions when released… I live in hope
We’ve been here at least twice before in the last year:
43.00 7th March
43.80 7th Oct
43.95 7th Jan at close today
On both previous occasions we were over 60p a month later and today AFC are a more promising business than before. Have a good weekend.
Yes Hellerchen, “partners include AFC Energy”!
Two things:
Izy has shown on her stories that Top Gear are back for ExE and working on “something exciting”.
And more from Major General Hutchings, what’s the Sustainable Power Symposium at the Army battle lab all about then…?

They do a lot of partying, I reckon the left one is for red, the other white.
Posted a while back but… E1 Series powerboats already signed up with Monaco. Targeting cities like Geneva or Zürich in Switzerland, London, also using ExE’s St Helena to go over to Greenland, New York, the Amazon, back via South Africa and the Middle East (converted to S-Cell by then?!). In all the host ports they will install the charging infrastructure to power the race and leave it behind. Now that could be just a standard grid connection in the marina. But some of those could equally be an AFC-ABB product as a legacy system installed and left behind in port? Listen from 18mins https://www.climate21podcast.com/1329991/7504495-electric-powerboat-racing-a-chat-with-e1-series-ceo-rodi-basso
Plus, ExE Series Two next year, surely repeat business if we’re now powering c.2,000 homes equivalent at each race?!
No harm - and as subsequently pondered, are we about to see ammonia to hydrogen via AFC cracker demonstrated next weekend. Very promising link up with British Army innovation (invite out to Sardinia focussed on AFC over the cars) and electrification programme.
Major General Simon Hutchings on Instagram:

“… the game changer will come with ammonia powered fuel cell. AFC Energy is leading the way.”
And this one:

“Not long before we host extreme e … an opportunity to showcase the army’s land vehicle electrification programme alongside the odyssey vehicles”
