Says the Ex-Spurt who pops up everyday with their analysis of what we should be doing?
Boris has a ditch going spare ;-)
And, "Subsequent to the successful implementation of the maintenance programme" every aspect of Vametco production capability has increased!
Today, Bushveld Minerals announced the successful completion of the Vanchem acquisition for a total consideration of US$53.5 million, reduced from the initially agreed US$68 million.
· Vametco's production for Q3 2019 was 561 mtV in the form of NitrovanTM from magnetite concentrate, a 24 per cent decrease relative to Q2 2019 (Q2 2019: 742 mtV) due to a planned maintenance programme, as previously announced.
· The maintenance programme was completed in 22 days, two days ahead of schedule. No further shutdowns are planned for the current financial year.
· Subsequent to the successful implementation of the maintenance programme and in line with the Transformational Programme, Vametco has completed the initiatives required to:
§ increase crusher and mill availability, and throughput rates;
§ increase kiln availability and hourly feed rate;
§ increase recoveries; and
§ improve leach plant recoveries.
Vametco's production for the nine months ended 30 September 2019 was 1,953 mtV a three per cent increase from the prior corresponding period (9M 2018: 1,897mtV).
· Vametco is on track to meet its production guidance of 2,800 mtV to 2,900 mtV for the 2019 financial year, underpinned by its improved operational performance.
· Unit production cost of US$18.90/KgV to US$19.50/KgV for the 2019 financial remains on track.
· On 21 October 2019, the Company announced that the Department of Mineral Resources and Energy ("DMRE") approved its mining right application in respect of the Mokopane Vanadium Project. The Company is currently finalising the required documentations in order to execute the mining right.
that'll be the crabs
Mum, mum............ can we go out and play until tomorrow morning...... we promise not to be late and miss the news....... Pleeeeeease!
Ex spurt is James Cleverly and I claim my £5 :-)
Lets play........ guess the rugby game outcome...............
Oh, hang on, you're a bit 5h1te at that one too.............
Lovely post........... Cheers BBN
Call me a rooster if you like, but how about a mobile electrolyte facility?
Stick the wet chem onto a ship, load up with containers of solid VCl3 / V2O5.
Sail to the customers country.
Pump on board locally sourced H2SO4 / HCl
Produce electrolyte, pump into container tanks and wave them goodbye.
Sail to next customers nearest port.
Rinse and repeat.
Sail back home, restock with more V and off again.
not quite got the same ring to it though :-)
Well, who would have thought it....... male chicken is on the banned word list!
2 ****s in the same pair of soiled pants............
??? 40,000 tonnes by air????
1 feeder class container ship can carry the lot
Alfa, I wonder if FM would like to buy some container ships next :-)
RK, probably by precipitation of the vanadium then weighing the washed and dried precipitate.
On an industrial production line they would probably want a faster method, the mentioned method was just a lab experiment, I'd imagine XRF would be the simplest (if somewhat more costly) method they could use.
If they are producing large batch sizes then precipitation is cheap and cheerful.
ust on the transport of electrolyte again.
East London cargo terminal currently handles in excess of 66,000 TEU's (Twenty foot equivalent) containers.
A true 20 foot tank container can hold 21,000 ltr to 26,000 ltr.
I'm sure Alfa has the volume per kWh/MWh but I'm sure shipping from there is a goer!
Unless they go in for production of ultra pure VCl3 and V2O5 and ship that to be prepared locally (probably more local) to the installation. The preparation of one electrolyte is summarised below.
I would imagine that the preparation of the electrolyte to the spec required would not be something a batch chemical producer could readily do in the quantities required, and if they mess it up...... It may actually make sense to bulk produce and ship by sea.

3.2. Electrolyte Preparation
The two pathways used to produce the electrolyte samples in various oxidation states are shown in Figure 5. V(III) and V(V) oxidation states of electrolyte in H2SO4 were prepared by the electrolysis of vanadyl sulfate dissolved in H2SO4 (sample I-V4-H2SO4). In the case of HCl, both Scheme I and II were used. For both series of samples in HCl matrix, the preparation procedure was based on the comproportionation of V(III) and V(V). For this reaction, VCl3 was first dissolved in 3 M HCl solution with subsequent addition of stoichiometric amounts of V2O5 and concentrated HCl (Table 6). V2O5 was used in an amount so that the resulting solution contained either V(IV) (series I, I-V4-HCl) or mixture of V(III) and V(IV) in a 1:1 molar ratio (series II, II-V3.5-HCl). The total concentration of chloride in the samples I-V4-HCl and II-V3.5-HCl was determined gravimetrically.

"When a company fails to make timely disclosure of material information, the provincial securities regulators can issue a Cease Trade Order (CTO) which stops the trading of the company’s stock. Once issued, a CTO remains in effect until the company meets its disclosure obligations. "

Going titsup?
Look............ Unicorns, millions of them ;-)
The world of VRFB seems to have sprouted many tentacles recently, and they all lead back to one place!
Interesting weeks ahead............... How much land is available at ELIDZ and how quickly can kilns be bought?
