Roundtable Discussion; The Future of Mineral Sands. Watch the video here.
IMO, he was and is a paid hand, perhaps a full insider or just in the executive loop somehow (not sure how that works, but he spoke for them directly, knowledgably and often pre-emptively)
Fear not Star Disciples, he dwells among us this happy day and has resurrected via a more subtle strategy. He will reveal himself again to us in His Second Coming...just as soon as his current incarnation can acquire some predictable gravitas from his flock, Baaa Baaa....
Neilly, my 5 cents.
For what it's worth, this acreage has been beaten, abused, squeezed and faked by the likes of Lenigas, Ritson, Koot and Potter (I do not eve mention the current lightweight travelling CEO). P1, S2, GY677 are all doomed or fabricated. Nothing new to see here.
Suriname is untried as yet untried, but I would eb willing to bet on the outcome, even if CEG could afford to establish an operating footprint there...it is enormously difficult acreage and Staatsolie have kept all the onshore low-hanging fruit themselves. As for Uruguay, it is the PITS (pie in the sky)
So No, I think it is over.
However, at these oil prices I fully expect the pump and dump methodology which has made them personal fortunes over the years to be viable once again, as ignorant punters look for cheap stocks with purported upsides.
so unless you are plugged into the BOD, you're plankton on the tide.....if you're looking for Trini oilers, there are better options, or take a punt and read the tea-leaves!
As the one-brown-eyed man would always say in the land of the blind, AIMHO and DDYOR.
The Druid is right again, like P1 and S1/2 and GY677...
thanks Output,
P1 was a duster, full stop. It has no easy analog. There is no industry interest.
Feel free to discuss the Suriname onshore with anyone who has operated there. Staatsolie have taken all the low hanging onshore fruit, and they are far more technically inclined than CEG could ever be.....and they were struggling after the refinery upgrade. The offshore has saved them! Our Light-weight Hippie is doomed there. I doubt we will ever see any ops on WNZ, and if we do, we'll wish we hadn't.
Enough for me now, I have had my days worth, but thanks!
Output,
Those who are familiar with the history of this acreage and Lenigas, Ritson, Koot, and Potter, and the various geological aspirations each regime pursued, cannot take seriously the assertion that the light-weight Hippy has a snowballs hope in hell of increasing production!
Not?
PS. As for Suriname, Wegnazee specifically, don't get me started! Once upon a time, the Purple Prince met a Dutchman on a soirree in Paramaribo, and thus acreage acquisition was inevitable.
(They hand out licenses to the Suriname onshore blocks at the McDonald's drive-thru in Guyana :-))
thus spake the Druid :-)
All IMHO and DDYOR right *fish, I know you're listening...
Thanks Output,
In the decade it took to get P1 drilled, their were many attempts to attract a farminee, all failed.
That was when BPC was a well funded robust vehicle, with an exploration dream and baggage.
Now, P1 was a duster, and CEG is a wimp by comparison in either funding or technical integrity, so my question is.....
How is the Bahamas even on the most distant horizon? It seems more likely we'll lose those licenses by default.
At the risk of repetition, Even in the unlikely event that a major wishes to explore that acreage now, why on earth would they even consider the baggage that CEG is, the debt, the reputation, and heaven forbid their desire for wads of equity and probably operatorship (so they can manage the spend ;-)).
The white knight farming in is a non starter in my opinion. ZERO chance of happening.
Nothing mystical or miraculous has ever happened, and nothing mystical or miraculous will ever happen.
We might as well grow up and get used to it..
The Druid is right.
Output,
Is that an opinion based on geoscience, or are you just arm waving optimistically generally?
You do know what real exploration and those wells cost, and what the somewhat dire financial situation is at CEG?
thanks!
Sroddy,
I have spotted Willec already in this incarnation of "Let's screw a punter", but it seems harder to spot the *fish as yet....he is either better disguised, or he is being held back for the main event.
Since those black-listed third-world countries like to do deals with these unsavory elements , rather than protect their people, we will have to vigilant on the boards so we can at least alert the unsuspecting ignorant punters who think all that is oil is gold at the moment...
More unpaid effort in the public interest!
Where do you guys get the idea that any respectable outfit would be a white knight?
No we don't farm in, we just wait for the licenses to be relinquished assuming we want it at all, or you apply directly to see if there is any default to exploit and then acquire.
Why on earth would anyone volunteer for this sort of debt-ridden corporate baggage with a very spurious track record, and heaven forbid, give it equity or operatorship??!! Why??
Grow up people, this dead horse has been flogged too often. Learn these:-
Nobody will farm into CEG, not in Trinidad, not the Bahamas, not Suriname nor Uruguay.
No miracle or mysticism has ever happened, nor will any miracle or mysticism ever happen.
Get used to it already...
He's not missing at all.....he's still around, can't you smell it?
Poor suckers, it is an exact repeat of the RRL story, but no-one remembers, and no-one is there to warn the unsuspecting greedy ignorant punter.
Let the buyer beware.
A fool and his money are soon parted.
There really ought to be a warning of sorts to unsuspecting PI's.
I appreciate that some do try to provide adult supervision, but surely companies should eb graded like steaks?
It should not be up to responsible civic minded people to warn the unsuspecting of these sorts of respawning cabals.
The regulators surely have a responsibility, even if the countries who host them are blacklisted.
