By the way, that 80k tons stockpile will bring in around $2.5m profit. 70kt regular monthly production will generate in excess of $2m profit every month, more if met coal price strengthens and / or BEN achieves further efficiencies. There aren't many (any?) AIM miners achieving this.

The share price movement is insane. BEN is now at the point it's been aiming for since IPO and demand for our product is strengthening, with profitable production at current prices. Thanks to contributor on unofficial bens creek Facebook page for this:

Apparently port delays, following the Panama Canal backup of ships waiting to transit during low waters, has caused NS to reduce traffic to port. No problems with Bens' operations, >80Kt coal stockpile all sold just waiting for all 12 trains that were booked to take it and current production volume away by Christmas. Full production of some 73Kt/month can commence once the port issue has been sorted and the stockpile reduced which should be soon.

Its all about the free cash flow and the indications that I see are that it should be better than the conservative estimates in WHI's model. I'm pleased to see re-stated management commitment to paying dividends:

"Future dividend payer: Management has always talked about paying a dividend. Increased production should generate the free cashflow to enable this, and an increasing met coal price could bring forward that potential. Our model shows FY 2025 as the start of dividend payments, but this could be earlier if management is in a position to bring forward the payment of dividends."

"Any increase in the FCF will give Bens Creek management the option to bring forward the date that it will pay a dividend. In conversations with management, we understand that there is a continued desire to bring forward dividend payments as soon as possible."

Agree with most of that Penstock, but NOT your continuing, irritating insistence on extended period til dividends. Once BEN has paid the loans off it will be generating free cash flow available for divs (+ strengthening balance sheet, capx etc). Paying divs is a stated priority. Why do you insist on guessing both timing and amounts without any apparent basis?

I think the trains are scheduled to fill ships. BEN invested in the loading area at the mine so can fill and turn-around 11k ton trains quickly. I suspect Avani will be all over optimising these parts of the process, so am confident that we'll be able to shift all we produce and not have it waiting too long.

I'm unhappy with bonuses and by all means challenge them at the AGM.

But investing is about looking at future opportunity. Share price has broadly tracked met coal price for quite some time but seems to have diverged (adversely) recently. I would hope that will correct.

Sp seems to me have been manipulated down on low vols - so many sells of miniscule quantities keep price and therefore sentiment down. There must be a reason and I would hope this too will end soon.

The fundamentals are looking really good now, and continue to improve, so sp is diverging from them too, which will surely correct at some point.

So in my view investing opportunity from here is in recovery of sp, firstly to reflect met coal price and current fundamentals, and then on an ongoing basis as regular high volume production, sales and profitability become the norm, and wider market drivers settle in for longer term eg demand for steel combined with pressures on wider met coal production.

Fromage what are you talking about? We know BEN is profitable now and increasingly so as met coal prices improve, production increases, costs reduce. PIs expect that the market will catch up with fundamentals and be reflected in rising sp. Profit will pay off loans and then free to pay dividends. How do majority shareholders benefit from past losses?

Just that on its own is $3.6m additional profit pa @ 60k tpm production ...

... and v good for us with Avani on board and being biggest importer of met coal into India...

R67 - I don't agree with it either ... but I guess without the progress on infrastructure in that period we wouldn't now be rapidly ramping up production to the 70k tpm target in a market where met coal price is also raidly rising. And being in that positive position enabled AW to get Avani on board which looks to me like a really good thing for the future. (7 figs? are you including decimal places?) I know you're usually glass half empty here but can you find something positive in BEN's current position?
