If I am correct it is done in preparation for a buy-back programme. This would be a very smart move by the bank if that is the case
Very true longterminvestor,
Sub €3 in the mayhem of a no deal, or we could have already hit the bottom if some kind of deal gets done. Might just go with half the punt and wait and see.
My thinking is that this could move back above €4 very quickly, and as such one could make an easy 15-20% gain. Longer term the returns would be up to 100%, but that still would leave the sp sub €7 which seems to be below what a lot of peeps here got suckered into
Anyone see this going back over €4 euro soon? The bank is now good value based on earnings compared to the Europe Banks industry average, Irish and Uk Markets. I bought a few last week but thinking of making a bigger punt. Even if we get a no deal Brexit it only means a short disruption till a deal is made. The EU or the UK will not risk the public unrest if it went on for any length. Which means Bank of Ireland looks way over sold. Currently running at 50% discount to future cash flow.
Eventually one has to get off the fence here.
Ultra cheap yes, but a truth is the market can stay irrational longer than you can stay solvent
I think it was a bit more than a small majority in ñî voting to remain.
Bank of Ireland looks like it's tied to this mess which is unfortunate for the small punter here.
Looks like Blackrock are taking full advantage of the situation.
I wonder what their plans are ??
Most EU citizens are sick to the teeth of Brexit now.If the UK come looking for another extension I think they will be given a very simple choice stay of f-off.
As for the NI border, most people in the republic are sick of the goings on, Northern Ireland can't have its cake and eat it, they must decide if they want to be part of the UK or part of Ireland in the event of a hard Brexit.
Looks like it's go away in May and come back in September 2022
Bit of a joke having a CEO who owns or buys fook all stock here. In fact most of the management have no real stake in the company. Where does francesca mcdonagh put her €952,000 she gets from Bank of Ireland? Not into bank of ireland stock thats for sure.
Just wondering have we any hodlers of this? It seems a very under the radar pharma/Bio pharma with some good drugs and now entering the Chinese market in a big way. I see this as one for the future
Hitting yearly lows this morning, picked up 1250 shares at the low.
Is now the time to be buying or should I hold off and see if this drops further. I'm of the opinion that we are heading to crunch time with brexit, so either the UK crashes out of Europe or not.
My feeling is that the brexit deal will not pass, then they are facing a General Election or another referendum or both. Either way Europe will extend the time to facilitate this.
Except she holds fook all shares worth talking about.
Doesn't bode well when the CEO hasn't used any of her big fat salary to buy some at these prices
I meant solvent bank. Deutsche bank is in need of another bailout. But you are right, until that gets sorted its going to be a drag on every other European bank
This has to be the most unloved banking stock in Europe over the last year. It has gotten hammered over Brexit. Its gotten hammered for being an Irish bank. It gotten hammered over the tracker mortgages even though they were first and most open about it.
Yet if you look at the figures this bank is well run, well financed and quietly returning nice growing profits every year. I'm a happy holder, I'm hoping to add more if I can get funds free. My exit will be when this breaks 12 euro sp within the next 5 years
Love the strong sell. That just another indicator to me that this is at the bottom. As for the price of Oil, grab it while you can as its going to soar north again real soon LOL
for this to recover. The market got badly spooked from the last RNS. It looked like production was about to dissappear!!! This is on the mend now but its going to be slow and steady from here for a while
On Tuesday you said " Ptr could be my next buy along with ore." So I take it you`ve either changed you mind or else your trying to Deramp and spread lies hoping to get in at a lower price? -- Seems so
A Good RNS in the next few weeks will see this rally. What we need to see is stable production, if we get that then this is very cheap
