Using the profits to pay for Davy and KBC is a Bank acting more like a growth company than a blue-chip dividend payer. I can understand why they are doing this, it is a sound financial move. It will see more growth and build a huge cash buffer for them. I don't think they'll get buying opportunities like that again for a while and they'll find that they'll have to either increase dividends or ramp up the buyback program over the next few years.
It's the buy-back program that's significant imho, it's a new avenue for them and could drive the share price much higher over the next few years, and we haven't even had any Interest rate rises yet, how much higher will profits climb when that happens considering the KBC deal would see them owning nearly 30% of the mortgage market!!
I had a inclining that they would be very slow to start return money to the shareholders, but at least they have started. On the plus side they had stunning profits considering it was in the middle of the pandemic. As long as the KBC deal goes through it's going to be very rosey for them going forward.
I'm expecting that eventually a much much higher price. £5 within a few months all going well.
We had strong director buying when the share price down, if a co is going wrong we usually directors selling .
Turns out the drop is due to Blackrock selling some shares. idk why they do this, some times they are buying and then selling but their doesn't seem to be any pattern with them. I remember them doing this when the sp was below €2, they were seen as sellers but out of the blue they had made a big increase in their position.
Because the market makers have not moved the price. They could be filling a large Order or may have other orders on the books. Who knows, they may simply be dragging there legs back from lunch.
Either way shares fall off a cliffs on the way down and climb stairs on the way up
idk if anyone would still be shorting this a this level. The risk of turnaround is too high and it found a floor at under £2.
Fundamentals of the company are still good, but we need some clarity with regard to this spin off of the Beauty division. In theory if it is spun off then you should then own shares in the spin off co. too.
But as I said this needs to be clarified and the sunken share price may have scuppered it anyway at which point it could easily be a takeover target of taken private for as little as the £3.50/share (just under half the IPO valuation)
Wouldn't be the first to take a company back into private ownership. Even though they operate in different Industries Matt Moulding reminds me of Michael Dell.
btw anyone see Nuri this morning? I wonder did he get a margin call
O-O
In a few weeks this will be a classic case of panic sellers having remorse and wondering how the hell did they get Mugged.
Nuri, here Nuri
click click
Nuri where are you
idk, and nobody can be sure but it's still a case of sitting on your hands for now and wait it out.
Volumes still running at double the average. At the current rate Blackrock must be looking to have reduced their position by the end of November.
The up side of this is £1.95 should be the floor, plus the shares are being soaked up by other Institutional Investors.
It's just a matter of waiting it out and use the opportunity to get a good average.
As an aside whenever I see nuri about posting doom and gloom. I remember him posting that Boohoo was nothing more than a website and a warehouse in the ******** of Manchester many years ago. I think the share price was around 26p at the time!!!
Is Barryroe just an Oil field or is there Gas too? It's just that there seems to be a lot of talk around Natural Gas being seen as one of the best of a bad lot "transition" energy.

Just too much uncertainty here wrt what investors will end up owning Are Softbank going to cherry pick and leave the rotten fruit?
What is the current Buy price on the stock? It is showing here at 3.40 but I cannot get any shares for that
I'm trying to figure out if these resources are on place then how is it that one of the Majors like Exxon has just bought them up, if only to book the reserves.
