TDG, thanks for your reply. My problem with that is not having enough time to keep enough companies on the radar that would allow me to just sell up and move on to another company I was fairly well read up on. Do you work or is this effectively your work?
DrBB
TDG, given that you're looking for circa 41p to buy in, how does it affect you when a share seems to start running away without you? At any stage do you change your mind and accept, say 51p, or do you just put it down to ' one of those that got away' situations? A genuine question as I'm genuinely curious because even amongst the'holders' there's a good deal of mental in-fighting going on in all of our heads and some of us are clearly of the buy and hold (hope) philosophy and others not.
Cheers.
Yup, don't question it Daltry. Being 'nice' to one another rarely killed anyone. Could do with more of it here for sure.
Two wells ago I think he/she said
TDG, if the figure of 875m troubles you how how come you held a position not that long ago where you then sold at 53p? The mcap at 53p would have been far greater than it is now so, what's changed if you put so much reliance on the straight forward mcap?
Thanks Entangled. I was meaning last month's tanker load......?
What date was the last offload? Apologies as I took LW's freezer advice and have deliberately stayed away for a few weeks and have only just returned today.
Funnily enough, staying away for a few short weeks improved my mood immeasurably. If anyone wants to know what it feels like........I can only highly recommend it for one's mental health!!!
GLA and ttfn!
Ash, yup, always keep the old fashioned ones just within arms reach!
So that answers my question then!! I'm sure the horizontal does create some mighty significant forces. As I said not my area. The nearest equivalent I come to is root canals with serious deviations where Nickel Titanium instruments work a treat .... but even they can 'separate' in use resulting in a premature and unintended obtduration of the canal. And when that happens I like not to think I have screwed up but that the occasional technical failure has compromised the outcome. Unfortunately we can't re-drill a slightly different course in those situations - c'est la vie!
That was in response to Andy's post earlier (15.26)
;-))
Is it actually a case of Petrofac screwing up or is it more simply that the drilling of these FB's is technically difficult to carry out? Don't know as it's not my area but interested to hear opinions. On the plus side with every one they have previously done they will have ( hopefully) learned plenty on the way that they can put to good use on the next one. You don't learn anything when everything goes to plan of course but unfortunately of course some don't learn even when nothing goes to plan.
I reckon they should just disconnect buoy from turret, stop sucking that c**p out of the granite ( that they keep managing to get paid for). Sail all the way around to Dubai, knock the boat about a little, scuff up the paintwork a good bit and then send it on a tour of the city. Not forgetting breaking a really important part near Malta on the way mind. That should do it LW. That'll bring us back up to the 60's no problem ;-))
"Malcy has become an irrelevance"
Yes couldn't agree more - note to self, unsubscribe!
Malcy, as always, makes comment when an RNS lands. Was interested/surprised in the shortness of his reporting on the matter! Couldn't have been much more succinct!!
44p!! It's closing tonight isn't it?
Well Candydog it's all you got, just a little nudge that is!
Personally I'm just ecstatic it's not red because when I looked earlier it was. Only HUR could be red when all around is a sea of blue!!
So, in short, whilst it's not much it's better than red and it was OVER a whole one percent!! Result!!
At least if nothing else it should answer the argument that was going on a few months ago here about whether we were linked to POO! I think that's properly answered it today for sure.
I don't disagree Chablard but sometimes you do begin to wonder at what goes on behind this sp and where it could wind up. Has me well and truly stumped this one.
GLA
SG2, I commented earlier this week that HUR seem to be showing signs of upping their PR a shade. And not a moment too soon I would say. I have said it before that I am not looking for another SOU-type approach but whilst they are intent on staying on AIM the BOD are perhaps figuring now that there is clearly a need for a certain minimum level of news flow/coms/transparency to potentiate some drive under the sp here. I don't doubt some of them (BOD) have been scratching their heads in wonderment at the sp. At what point I wonder do a large number of investors throw in the towel and move on? I'm meaning those who have doggedly stuck with the investment in this company here through all that has gone before in the hope that some big oil numbers will move the dial only to discover that isn't happening. When that starts to happen (investors selling up and moving on) on a slightly larger scale what do the MM's do and where does the sp end up? And that is all despite the fact that every 4 weeks or so fairly huge quantities of oil are being offloaded and sold on. Seems to matter not.
Good point SIPP. From memory.... don't have the time to check just now but is it 55p when the VCP starts to kick in for them?? Anyone remember? I may be wrong...
If that was the case I wonder if they ever wish they were moving from AIM . If only to open themselves up to more institutions being prepared/able to buy when not on AIM which might see their sp heading north...?
