The government announced back in November 2020 that it would be giving funding of 160M to ports involved in wind farm development , any one know if this is for the owner /operator of the ports or does that include the companies that are actually doing the work for the windfarms
Agree politicians can't run shipyards. Tim Hair classed in some articles as the turn around director has been put in charge for a few months to oversee the completion of the ship. Not a bad earner.

Don't want to spoil the party, but items such as pin piles can be very large items to manufacture ....thus the yard have to have the equipment to manufacture. Not sure what size piles their using on this project, but would anticipate they would be floated in by barge from a specialist manufacture of piles.
As well as the 54 jackets there's two transformer stations to be installed in the field. Believe HW have experience with this in RWE Gwnty Mor wind farm. Hopefully all systems go.

The open day in Appledore was back in September, I know of two very experienced people in ship building and offshore construction who went along to that open day who never got any reply after submitting cv/s. They have since moved on and were offered positions at BAE and Bab---- witin two weeks of applying to them.
