Haemoglolin, yes you need to more research, TonyH your correct on some points, not all. Perhaps both of you didn't notice last weeks announcement by GEG (Nigg Bay) of the tie up with Spanish Haizea Wind Group . The investment of 110 m plus will manufacture Transition Pieces and /or associated parts, they will use a rolling /strip mill for this . RWE for example use a lot of transition pieces. I believe HW were could have been in the yard buying phases whilst the negotiations with the Scottish government for funding , so have missed out on this lucrative package.
I am hoping that HW will concentrate on the floaters to secure their market share in the wind farm industry , There's plenty of work out there. and with fully automated equipment no reason why HW can't secure contracts in the Wind, Ship Buiding Repair work.

They took full advantage of the oil boom that hit that area in the seventies. Now we have the boom of the Wind Farms, it's time to take advantage, combined with the ship repairs it's time to start rockin.
