The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring Jeremy Skillington, CEO of Poolbeg Pharma has just been released. Listen here.
I love Reindeer too. One of the best meals I ever had (in Finnish Lapland) was smoked haunch of reindeer, cured reindeer tongue, and seared reindeer liver served with a cloudberry compote. I enjoyed it a lot. Sustainable reindeer herding involving the killing of animals for human consumption can coincide with sustainable mining for human consumption.
Nice find Thordon. I found something too: Looks like our new (in the job over a year now) VP Sales has also been an inventor in the past:

I hope she’s “inventing” big sales opportunities lol
That’s easy Surfie, because if the $4.7m is hit for 2022, then the horse is really out of the trap, lifting significantly the share price by end of this year and more as we continue to motor towards breakeven in 2023.
Could be Chilting but for me (as an ex aerospace guy) composite materials means stuff like Carbon Fibre etc. Often such composite materials are reinforced with epoxy resins, which are often petroleum based...and changing that stuff to Itaconix based chemistries & technology would be another exciting application area. I guess we’ll know for sure in 2 years!
Smart *appears they are not making a profit* - you are correct. At $2.6M for last year unaudited that can read “definitely not making a profit” which is part of the reason why the share price has done a major retreat. The forecast 2023 numbers are breakeven numbers in my opinion, and then we are off to the races - when met, if not before. The RNS today is very interesting - I remember reading something on composites - let me see if I can find it...
That’s a nice post Demo. I’ve been in and out of (very modestly) Fresnillo over the past few years. Back in now with a few £k. I like that they are one of the world’s biggest silver producers and I like silver. Happy to wait a couple of years for a rebound, though it might be quicker than that.
And no problem with raw material flow from Far East it would seem. Last month 340T of Itaconic Acid shipped to USA, from what I have found. I don’t know how much of that is connected to Itaconix.

Fair point Blue on the cash. We shall see & know pretty quick I think. The last fundraiser was mid-COVID and those investors, one can only assume, saw the runway being built to 2023/24 and beyond - so 12p wasn’t a problem. I do remember a few presentations back (for FY2020 I think) JS said “some months had already been breakeven.” If the company raises more cash that way, that is a truly thumping endorsement. If they need to go to market, he might need to give us a bit of help by addressing stuff like this:
I’d like to know his current view on when each month will be breakeven (won’t be this year) and some information on the new VP Sales successes on the Business Development front after more than a year in the job. Not forgetting BioAsterix. There was a revenue curve timeline also given a while back and I’d really like to how it’s recalibration is currently looking.
In fact, I’m going to email him on that last point!
That about sums it up Bod. 2023 and beyond, which has always been on the cards. I’m looking forward especially to new initiative announcements during the course of this year, now that we are all learning to live with COVID.
I’m praying 5 times a day Eric and going to the chapel, Kirk, and temple.
lbjj * Thor has been in a number of meetings with various Sami groups as well as a full day out with them on the skidoo. Yet he has not even said hello to Budge. Don’t you consider that odd?*
I don’t think it’s odd - and are we 100% sure there hasn’t been any off the record contact? If Thor is minded to YES, then the ones he needs to spend most time with ahead of that decision ARE the ones most against it - he will be trying to take them (Sami) with him, which, in my view, is why he’s right in being empathetic and being seen to be so.
Great post Elsol. It is worth adding, the BoD performance based share bonus scheme expires end of this year and they are rewarded according to incremental revenue growth - so it’s in their interest (and ours) to really motor towards breakeven THIS year, NPD, customer orders & demand permitting, of course.
