No.1 problem:- Landlords should not exist for Uk’s indigenous working people, who have the right to home ownership. Gov failed them all in rentals.

OK, I am going to play the neutral card here and ask why is it the government’s fault? What is stopping those people renting to own a home? Are the barriers part due to the people themselves and/or the lenders?

Like I said before, if you want to be negative then give the reasons and what could be done to improve the situation. We can all be negative at a high level with drilling down into the detail.

So, with the response below identifying all the errors of going forward can you tell us what they should have done instead. I don’t mind people being negative but at the same time they should offer a better solution so we can discuss that as well for closing the black hole deficit.

And by cutting allowances and raising taxes, they are cutting more veins of support to the economy, and diverting it to there own pot to cover up more of there bad judgment and corrupt mistakes, enjoy your day.

I hope you are correct but I have a feeling that Hunt will treat banks as an open pot of gold that he can dip into and not care of the consequences. Hunt along with the LibDems who want to give £300 a month to people with mortgages which increase by 10%, which is probably most people.

On my soap box again with this one, just slap 2% increase onto NI contributions for the 40% bracket, goes from 2% to 4%. I’m sure that will bring in a few extra millions.

Having read today what the Lib Dems want to do today we could kiss goodbye to any decent divis and growth. It’s always interesting to read that it isn’t just the Conservative party that sees banks as personal piggy banks that they can just pull out funds to pay for this and that.

Someone really needs to put a halt to using banks as a free cash source to raid.

Irrespective if you are a working pensioner or not why can’t those in the 40% tax bracket not pay more than the 2% NI contributions that is currently the set level.

Perhaps we let them stay at 2% and increase the tax band to 50% so that it makes it more equivalent for those on the 20% tax/NI bracket.

So why should those in the 40% tax bracket enjoy a huge tax break reduction of 84% of NI contributions?

For myself I would rather they pay more dividends to us in the current climate and scale back on taking shares out of the system. They can always increase the scheme once interest rates come back down. Charity begins at home and that is me.

To start with how about it increases NI contributions for those in the 40% tax bracket from 2% to say 4%. That way you will leave the lower earners as they are and only hit those with a more comfortable income.

They stood no chance before Brexit. It was settled in the EU. - I don’t believe they will achieve in taking it over in full sovereign status, it is too valuable to the UK, but we will see.

Of no relevance to European components - The EU/UK and many other nations rely upon China for components. The German auto industry as an example is reliant on the Chinese. The EU/UK are not into component manufacturing as they used to be when China has a cost advantage. Take a look at BASF that is now relocating a huge element of manufacturing to China as it is too costly to continue within Germany. I have read that other German manufacturers are also looking to relocate manufacturing to China. We reap what we sow sadly.

Nope.. I meant EMA (Medicine) . We left after Brexit and our pharmaceutical testing is much harder. - what did this equate to in people employed here in the UK and what was the financial loss to the UK?

If we were to go back in don’t expect to return on the same terms as before. For starters we would be forced to adopt the Euro and then potentially told that the city of London financial trading will be dismantled and relocated principally in Germany. After that it will just be a case of stripping us out of anything of value. We had our best hand while in prior to Brexit.

From a dividend allowance once at £5000 to a possible zero really is a kick in the teeth. At some point investing in shares may not be worth the hassle, but what is the alternative?

An area of taxation that I always find interesting as to why it is never attacked is the NI contributions for the 40% bracket. If I remember correctly those on the 20% bracket pay the full amount on there salary minus PA at 12%.

Now those in the 40% bracket see a reduction of NI from 12% down to 2%, is this really fair that these people are actually seeing a 10% reduction/saving. To keep figures simple, basic tax payers are taxed in total at 32% while those in the 40% bracket are taxed in total at 42%. To me they are actually not paying a significant amount more. If Hunt wants to raise taxes why can’t he increase the NI from 2% to say 4% and in reality start increasing further in future years.

By increasing NI for the 40% bracket he would actually be helping the lower tax bracket by targeting the higher earners only.

They have offered minimal phyical checks and a move away from paper in NI, if the Uk can provide real time data. So far we are not ready. After 6 years

It makes you wonder if this is a deliberate ploy by certain civil servants to make it fail and blame it on Brexit voters.

If renewable is so cheap and so good why don't we get on and deploy the full plan for that first? That will be quick. Rishi might do that to get some green votes?

I seem to remember a long time ago reading that the government doesn’t actually own renewable energy like wind farms outright. They are put up by enterprising companies that then tell the government/energy companies what the cost will be per Kw hour. I am probably wrong on some of it but that is the gist I seem to remember about it.

So why is the government throwing our money at renewable and we as consumers are paying for this privilege in our energy bills and we don’t get a good cheap energy cost?
