When Gordon Brown started selling off our gold I was tempted, but not confident enough to put anything in…went into property instead…that didn’t work out too bad tbf.

My point is there is broadly sod all the U.K. or the EU can do about it…or indeed any of the other big geopolitical moves that are being made globally at present.

Semiconductor manufacture is slowly being moved away from Taiwan which is telling. They know it will be Chinese at some point…

And if NATO does fall apart from the annexation of Greenland, where is Europe gonna get its security from? I think there would be some strong words, but in true EU form there will be no real meaningful action. What leverage have they got? Europe can’t afford its own defence as it stands. I mean committing to 3% by 2030 just ain’t gonna cut it…if we are truely serious about defence…which I don’t think we are.

people get their knickers in a twist about trump, but where’s the outrage for xi? or khomeini for that matter?

whether we like it or not, the big players are scrambling for land, minerals and strategic positioning…

i don’t like it any more than you, but that is the reality i’m afraid, and i’ll say it again, i’d rather live in a world steered by the us, than any of the other less desirable outcomes.
