….back in the UK, EasyJet should give a trading update this week.

Any chance we could talk about that because this Board isn’t going to sort out the Middle East……nor should it try to!

Interesting info but you’ve assumed that all new aircraft are a net gain in total planes…..surely older aircraft will be retired and if the total aircraft available each year is lower, then revenue and profit will be lower.

I’d love to see £22, but I’m looking to exit if we can achieve £18…….no great science to my number other than the belief that a 30% uplift on the current share price is not unrealistic based on expectations this year and next.

Wizz stated they expect 15-20% increase in passenger volume growth in 2025.

So you wanted/expected him to sell at/above market price? Not sure that’s how it works.

If I buy or sell anything in bulk, I expect a discount.

A temporary dip and we now have a wider shareholder base who are supportive of the current position is a good thing.

Whenever there is a known seller in a market, that is always a drag on a share price. The sooner he sells more, the better - in my view.

He still owns 34m shares. Is there a price that you would be happy he sold out at or is he not allowed to sell any?

Surely the fact that institutional investors were happy to invest £73m is an endorsement of the direct of travel for this share?

I imagine he will have sold at a slight discount, hence the drop this morning, but I remain positive about the future results/share price.

Very positive news to see the Chair purchase £120k worth of shares…..price continuing to rise this week as well.

We already know what the result will be.

Two key points for me are the latest summer booking figures and how much of an increase in dividend is given.

Those two points will decide what happens with the share price…..up hopefully.

It’s never going to be an airline dedicated runway, is there such a thing anywhere else in the world? Won’t be operational until the end of the decade anyway so it won’t affect the share price in the near term either.

From the trading update on the 24/4:

“The Group will announce its Preliminary Results for the year ended 31 March 2024 on 11 July 2024 at which point it will provide a fuller outlook for the all-important Summer 2024 trading period.”

Not long to wait now, do we think we’ll see a lift ahead of 11/7?? Is Jet2 having a good summer? Surely with the uk weather to date, families will want to get away!

I disagree. A quick search found this:

I think it’s very important that the CEO is totally aware of the P&L and how his decisions could affect the performance/share price.

Trading update last year was 18th April. I think we’ll have a much clearer view by mid April, 2-3 weeks away. Current average broker forecast is £6.83 but if we have good results then this could well go higher.

Time will tell, a little patience needed. I’m positive though, I think all airlines are increasing margins quite a lot this year based on prices I have seen……

Well at a P/E of 10, that would suggest a hefty rise in share price up to that average broker forecast of £19. That would be very welcome! Who forecast £1.92??

Shouldn’t we be celebrating the short position? Since the trade appears to have worked against them, they will be obliged to buy back the shares in a rising market. Wouldn’t that drive the price even higher?

Or have I missed something?

Frustratingly, this recent article may give some insight.

From my calculations EDV would need to get to £13.45 by close tomorrow, up another 5% to stay up…..not sure that’s likely but we’ll know for sure tomorrow evening.
