The Board has rejected all 3 offers. They will have already got feedback from main shareholders on what price is acceptable. I would expect a jump to £5.80-£6 at open and the market will have to see if a higher bid from Castlelake is made or an alternative offer appears now that others know where the starting point is.

Interesting for EasyJet……on the SoH news, Jet2 up 2.7%, IAG up 2.8%, Wizz up 7.2% and Ryanair up 2.9%.

But easyJet is up 45% in the past month so let’s not get negative just because of today…..

I have to say how impressive the various views are on this board. As private investors we unfortunately sit in a relative vacuum of information. The Board of easyJet will be busy right now sounding out the big investors on their thoughts for any potential bid and whether they continue to believe the current Boards strategy or would potentially sell. They will probably try to understand an acceptable value/price for those big investors.

There is little point in stating what, as a private investor, you would accept as the total votes of PI’s is tiny in the scheme of things. We’ll get told what will happen to our shares by the institutions who really control this company.

We just all need to try and enjoy the ride and decide what our own acceptable exit price is, whilst trying not to get too greedy and potentially end up disappointed.

If that’s your entry point, why didn’t you buy last week? How much upside do you think they’ll be in the next 6-12 months that makes you nervous about buying at a point (today) that is c.3% higher than you’d buy in at? Surely you think the price will get to £4.50-£5 so why are you concerned about 15 pence when there is plenty of upside?

You endlessly bleat on about the changes you want on the board to make as if you believe the CEO is reading it too and will suddenly have a Damascene moment and do what you think is right.

Have you tried contacting the Directors or attending an AGM? If not, that might be a better place to focus your efforts.

If you don’t like the way the company is being run, then don’t invest here and find a company that you agree with, life will be much less stressful for you.

I agree it is frustrating that the market doesn’t see the value, currently, that most on here see, but each of our views is a drop in the ocean regarding any impact that view will have. We’re just here for the ride and our job is to use our best judgement on the timing of buys and sells. Xhita seems to be getting that right at the moment, it’s a shame you put it down to luck…..just be happy for her success.

I’ll keep sitting here patiently for the right time to sell…..I wish I had taken a healthy profit at £18.50 like Xhita but just got greedy! I’ll have to wait longer, but I believe we’ll get back to those levels in a reasonable timeframe. If I didn’t, I would sell and take a modest profit and try elsewhere.

Xhita - where have you seen the 25th as the update date?

He’s just been given another 115k shares exercisable in 3 years time, so I doubt it. Other Directors have sold shares to cover tax liabilities, who knows his reasons……Directors selling isn’t necessarily a bad sign and other Directors are currently still holding theirs.

I read that PBT is expected to increase from £610m to £703m, so a 15% rise. If they keep the same 20% ratio on PAT then the dividend would increase by 1.8p so I’d anticipate at least 14p, but hope for more to drive some new investor interest.

Wouldn’t it be helpful if EZY provided their numbers each month too. Can’t be that difficult!

That all seems logical. The AGM in September gave Board approval for further buy backs - I wonder if that would be announced at full-year or whether an earlier announcement might be possible?

I’m surprised there are so many sellers at this price still. With this aggressive final push to buy up the stock, I would have expected the share price to have moved higher. Should we expect a drop in share price after this week???

£4.5m of buybacks yesterday, making up for a few days off! Glad to see a rise this morning, hopefully we have bottomed out at last!

FTSE 100 relegation - unlikely, need to be outside 110th place and that would currently need a £300m reduction in value, about an 8% fall.

I welcome the buy back and the use of the £250m, but the current dividend at a total of 16.5p costs c.£30m. I wonder what impact a doubling of the dividend would have for market perception and engagement, and therefore the share price?

Brokers keep saying it should be £20+ but here we are at £15….

Canaccord Genuity yesterday increased its target to £23.25 so they clearly think yesterday was a blip. Hoping for a rebound today!

And the current valuation puts Jet2 at 100 in the FTSE…….I would be interested in thoughts on what impact a switch of listing would have, other than trackers having to buy in. I imagine that would give it a boost, plus further coverage by brokers and media.

How much would a FTSE listing cost each year?
