Thanks Sticky, Ireland takes a 25% div withholding tax, that I cant be bothered claiming back for a couple 100€ each time, then France hits me on the rest for 30% + taxes, so 10% div nets to 5.25%. I do take my good IMB & previously good AAL divs in drips in my share account, which only costs me about 15% fees & services. donalb

Just sold down 20% of my 10++ yr holding today, as getting killed with my 2 country double taxation situation on this now substantial dividend. Anyone know if I can take it as a DRIP ?

Very good energy & security news for Ireland overall, in just 5 weeks & 5 days in office, Darragh O'Brien has totally reversed & sealed gov approval for an LNG storage system, after near 5 yrs of Eamon Ryan's blocking strategy to any & all new gas/fossil fuel projects. Good for Trump & 17 March visit, "we love your fracked LNG now, more than our own Guinness & will buy lots v soon", so don't tariff our huge US exports too much :-)

And as Treasures, if we can now approve high CO2 fracked LNG, furthering low CO2 Corrib South, etc, should be a doddle.

Cabinet ministers will be told that the facility is essential to Ireland’s energy security, as nearly 80 per cent of Ireland’s gas needs are imported through a twinned pipeline connection with Britain, and the remaining 20 per cent of supply from the Corrib gas field is projected to decline in the years ahead.

Ministers will also be told that the vulnerability Ireland’s gas pipelines has also been highlighted in recent years by the presence of Russian submarines in Ireland’s waters.

The decision comes despite statements by former environment minister Eamon Ryan at the end of last year that an LNG facility was no longer necessary nor advisable.

An analysis from Gas Networks Ireland found that the project would take much longer to deliver than originally expected and that the rate of gas “boil-off” in such facilities would require a significant volume to be sold commercially into the market every year anyway, negating its purpose as a “reserve”.

A certain volume of gas will have to be sold into the Irish market on an ongoing basis to ensure it doesn’t just boil off, while the tankers will also have to be regularly replenished by commercial partners.

The government is set to approve Ireland’s first liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal at a cost of €300 million, with environment minister Darragh O’Brien bringing a memo on the project to cabinet this week.

The terminal is to be a state-led emergency gas reserve despite a push within parts of government to go with a commercial model.

Gas Networks Ireland will be tasked with leading on the project, where the state will purchase a floating LNG facility outright at a cost of €300 million, while the running costs are expected to be in the region of €60 million a year.

It has been decided that purchasing a facility will be far more cost effective than leasing a facility, especially as it is expected to be needed for at least the next decade. The cost will ultimately be borne by the consumer through their bills, while a final decision on the cost of the investment will be brought back to government at a later date.

Commercial partners may still be involved in the operation and replenishment of the LNG facility, even as the overall project is to be “state-led”. The facility will also require regular refilling due to the rate of gas “boil off” that happens with liquefied gas, meaning some gas will have to be sold into the market on a commercial basis to avoid it leaking into the atmosphere.

Gas Networks Ireland will be asked to establish the most appropriate location for the floating facility and to ensure as a priority that the cost of the new infrastructure is minimised for the consumer.

Leaving my home at 11 am, big panic at a road works dig 10 yards from my door, a digger had just punctured a gas pipe & there was a huge hiss & sour gas smell. All nearby houses & businesses evacuated, roads blocked & general chaos & nearby restaurants closed down, etc. Only allowed back home after 2 hrs & my apartment needed airing to get out the gas smell out.

I am taking it as a sign from the "Gas Gods", that MOU-5 will hit it big :-)))

PS- Oldslow, no plans yet, more roof appointment's with architects & planners, upcoming dentist surgery & friends visiting the town for March, though rooms at the Guercif inns are still available down town, as it seems to me that PRD block booked an out of town establishment for months. thanks for all your TUI thoughts, I am mostly of a similar mind.

Other positives are that interest rates are slowly coming down, so overall cost of debt should be reducing.

Also our new plane orders are 20-30% more fuel efficient & have more seating than our older fleet, plus we can reduce any costly wet leases.

I also think crazy Trump, nasty Putin & the on edge German elections on Sunday are adding to this weakness.

For myself, I have been modestly buying TUI shares in my trading pot, 4 times now post recent results, from 7.50 down to 6.56 today, my ave through this & previous trading has reduced from € 9.50 to €7.91 today. DYOR & GLA, donalb

Thinking hat on today, in a MOU 5 success case, with the MEG passing ~ 600 m from the drill pad (see white line running ~ East to West south of pad), might it be cheaper, faster or even possible to add a new MOU 5 MEG Node using some kind of a hot tap, etc, instead of piping the 3 km & under the river to the existing node ? After lots of recently heavy clouding, MOU 5 pad is visible today, in its full gravel pad grey, so gravel surfacing & rolling must be nearly finished. Possibly 2 white cabins installed on pad at LHS of entrance road, as in usual for PRD. Maybe other equipment present too.

NT - near the bottom of today's RNS it updates that MOU 5 spud will take place "on or before March 3". Previous MOU 5 site update stated "on or about 25 Feb". Same, same, really, a couple of days in Moroccan time, but it has been a while since the Salinity Crisis, so all good :-)

RKH up 8+% today & 200% in 3 months & much more from recent lows.

So small topslice & 60k @ 4.4p buy of PRD, to average down my modest holding, risk Vs reward demands it :-)
