Did anyone take the time to read the IMG Arena deal yesterday?

Obviously rhetorical...anyway I’ll post the official IMG statement from their website. Before you read it and see how prominent the virtual portfolio is within the statement...ponder the fact currently they (as far as we are aware) only own 25% yet the statement suggests it is their virtual porfolio.

Here’s the statement paragraph I’m referring to

Of course when you only own 0.5% of the largest player in this market and it’s one of multiple investments in a company that’s got the mcap we have then it’s barely worth thinking about.

A group of 20 education organizations and individuals have sent a letter to the leaders of the House Financial Services Committee and Senate Finance Committee urging Congress to pass legislation that would provide a legal framework for colleges and universities and other education providers to offer income share agreements (ISAs) to students. The individuals signing the letter were former Democratic Delaware Governor Jack Markell, who is now a Vemo Education board member, and John Bailey, who served as a White House Domestic Policy Adviser to President George W. Bush.

Interesting to note that it’s a bipartisan group that have introduced it. For those familiar with the term bipartisan in relation to US politics you’ll know how significant it is that the group is bipartisan.

Also in June, Democratic lawmakers sent a letter to the Department of Education seeking information about possible ED plans to use ISAs in federal higher education programs. This comes off and it’s game on, as this is where the serious money is. The U.S. education market was valued at around USD 1,350 billion in the year 2017 and it is expected to reach approximately USD 2,040 billion by 2026. (Those are commas not full stops. )
