anon - yes it is. This fall is crazy but market sentiment is awful.
GKN is 50% car industry.

Darkelf - it is caused by:
1. Trump and his 25% tariff on EU cars threat
2. A hard brexit on our car industry
3. September was the lowest month for cars sales in 2 years - industry blaming brexit and shift away from diesels.

Capra - he seems to have a lot in common with DBNO. Maybe the same person.
I nearly bought here at 430 but was tied up in other things and decided to hold them. Good year so far - been in cash for most of it.

Because it is garbage - I hoped for more but I am out for breakeven now.
With results coming not worth being in. I get the strategy but feel like any wins will go to majority shareholders given their 5p options - If I were one of them I would dilute the hell out of this on any good news - of which there is none!

lego - I averaged down but the potential for dilution here is quite disturbing. Even if they sell off non-performing divisions and are left with a profitable division a conversion of shares that is x 2 the current amount in issue doesn't feel like it will help.

No misunderstanding - I think everyone on here knows what shorting is.
Was wondering - anyone here ever taken a short position out - I use Hargreaves and not sure if you can on that app.

Why would you short your own shares? I have heard of people with cln shorting, then closing and converting. I even understand merger arbitrage. I dont understand what you mean.

I watched the MRO GKN saga and it wasn't until the last day that GKN shot up to the 461 offer. It traded under it by a good 5-8% for quite a while.
