The next focusIR Investor Webinar takes places on 14th May with guest speakers from WS Blue Whale Growth Fund, Taseko Mines, Kavango Resources and CQS Natural Resources fund. Please register here.
We’ve been here many, many times. Price spiking up and then falling back. As ever, I’ll not be counting my chickens until I see some firm news/RNS behind the move, albeit it was quite the move in those last two hours of the day.
Oh, and Hamm, you don’t half talk some claptrap.
And WOS, we’ve been here many times before - I can air my negative views. It doesn’t mean I can’t buy stock. For example, I was completely pi55.ed with MB for doing a raise 6 weeks after he’d told us that we were “fully funded for the foreseeable future” but thought 2.5p was a good buy, especially when the SP post announcement was 3p. You don’t have to be in love with a stock to try. You just need to work out if you can make money off it. I know there’s many LTHs here that will be glad to see the SP rerate so they can leave here forever.
Anyway, good luck all genuine LTHs for tomorrow and beyond.
A lot of people on here partake in schadenfreude, including picking on a members other stock picks that might not have (yet) worked out so well.
I might be critical of MATD, or more specifically the Mongols for the corruption/bureaucracy/love of meeting after meeting, but as a LTH I still want it to do well.
Cyberplonk - I've only posted twice this week on MATD, LOL!
Anyway, anyone else sometimes feel like we are part of a sick experiment - how long can you string some investors along with "just one more signature, any day now!".
Dare I say, I’m not entirely convinced we’ll have a material update even by the AGM. And sadly, I’m not sure RM and the rest of the BOD will give a hoot if we don’t. It has become very clear to me that the ordinary PI is an irrelevance and inconvenience for them.
I still believe in the science and the drug, and am just hoping at this point that a) it gets the trials I think it deserves and b) that us PI’s aren’t shafted in some way and get to reap some of the rewards from it.
Is that definitely correct? I thought it had to be within 6 months of the company’s accounting year end, which I think is December 31st for MATD?
“For public companies, a general meeting of its shareholders must be held within 6 months from the day after its accounting reference date (which is the date that a company's financial accounts are prepared to).”
I thought there was also a rule that you couldn’t have longer than 15 months between meetings, which would take us to May 15th. I’m sure someone on here more erudite than me in this area can confirm.
Master82 - lowering yourself to WOS’s and Thornogson’s level, stalking to see what other stocks someone else buys and then try to use it to discredit them and their opinions, is disappointing. But anyway, when was the last time you looked in to see what POW is doing? I’m pretty sure it’s a very different company now to what it was back then.
Have a good weekend.
Sol - Not quite! Not all companies have to raise money because they have businesses which are generating revenue.
I did list a few reasons why this isn’t a home run, to add balance, like I said. And there’s plenty more.
And again for balance, I’d counter that the ROW wouldn’t give Mongolia a second thought or rock the international boat if China and/or Russia bullied Mongolia over oil trading/producing between them all.
But that’s ok, Thornogson. You keep the blinkers on and the family investing. As usual, you can’t have a well-mannered debate on here!
Thornogson, Russia could (and indeed has!) messed Mongolia around with the supply of oil, but I would argue to be landlocked between and have two of the most powerfully corrupt nations as your neighbours is more of a negative. But then I am glass half empty on MATD versus your half full!
Just for balance...
"This is one of safest positions anyone can have on Aim, back by Central Govt in line with Country policy on Oil Independence AND with asset in place."
...but in a highly corrupt country, with ridiculous levels of bureaucracy, and landlocked between China and Russia.
Bad day, Dusty?
“10.25am: I'd love to buy more, sure tempted at its dipping, but as I've said previously before these drilling results, I buy now, and it slips down down to 6p and I'm looking at loss making aim ventures all year long, listening to this forum talking this and that won't be enjoyable after, let people have there bloody concerns will you”
7 minutes later!:
10.32am: This is a bit silly, but I'm buying more but someone please explain this???, so i can assess the bottom of this dip and buy there“
