Tommyd settling in for the next long haul to nowhere - still talking sh.it out of both sides of his mouth to anyone who'll listen - when everything he was so pompously certain about yesterday has turned to ashes. Reinventing himself and rewriting the story he was so certain of with every single rotten syllable. Consternation and perplexity replacing arrogant certainty for a day or two before the mechanical ventilation script drops.

AJ they haven't chosen ventilated patients because they can only afford to do one trial and it's either / or. They've chosen it because they can't identify the patients for the key - company defining - trials with inpatients that they intended to run.

Mechanical Ventilation is a big enough market. 300k in the US 100k in the UK, ( and you'll all hear the usual suspects swarming around stats like this when they've recovered their poise and forgotten their embarrassment ) but it's the booby prize in The Great Game.

If SNG doesn't work for Covid, COPD, RSV and Flu patients before they're lyiong fl;at on their substantial bellie, it's the end of the road.

If you want to keep believing and picking away at the language to find coded messages of redemption, you can, but when that's done, you'll be left with RM and his team of experts sitting in a very dark room.

No idea I'm afraid - but unbelievably it's the only shot they have now. They had some decent data on viral clearance - which tallies with evidence that ventilated patients and Long Covid sufferers all continue to do badly because the virus is still active. And if they can design a test they might have the AAB cohort of up to 15%. That's what they're after i guess. But this is from memory I don't know how well it will play across into this untrialed space.

Saying they're waiting for more UNIVERSAL data is moonshine. It's not a very clever trial frankly and the only specific biomarker they will ever find will be for Auto-abs for Ifns. Which data is out there already from several huge trials.

The ventilated trial was always a free hit - easy enough to get approval for with the drug's safety record and the desperate plight of those lying there on their stomachs. But they have ZERO data to support it, except for the viral clearance line which is prety lame as the link to outcomes is unproven. It has been somewhere in the back of their minds though, as it was cited as a reason for the change to the aeroneb which can be plugged into a ventilator. And of course that oft repeated "it likes a fire to put out" comment

Universal won't offer anything to support the use in this realm as the inclusion was so loose and most will not have gone anywhere near a ventilator.

Outpatients as a possibility has been dead for years. Too expensive - too short acting and the data from A2 was not great.

So all of the efforts have been made in finding the hospital patient cohort - which I said a long time ago ( to Tommy's derision ) would be in ICU. But they've got nowhere with that. Nowhere with their main area of exploration and investigation. Nothing from AABs - which still might help for ventilated patients as they are present in 15% of the most severely ill if they are actually working on it, but hasn't appeared yet. Nothing in all of the deep dive statistics which we were told were so powerful, to allow a large population hospital study across multiple viruses.

They've abandoned the main thrust of everything they've talked about over the last 2 years. Given up on it all.

Mostly this is because they haven't identified the cohort and now know it's not identifiable - but it will also be because of Dupixent and Ensifentrine and all the other modern drugs that are trialling for respiratory inpatients and outpatients.

Are there lots of shares being traded ? Would TFG want to cross the 30% threshold and take control ? How much would it cost them and what purpose might it serve for them. Clearing out the board ? Offering the patent to BP ?

Ghia's point is well made. I hope Tommy's relentless sciencey ramping didn't fool any long term investors into topping up as we approached this sad day.

It's the end of the Synairgen story for sure. A story that started in hope, for the world,as much as for ourselves as investors, in the dark days in 2020 and ends in shambolic failure 3 years later. A lot of us didn't know anything about shares or medical science as we took the leap and we have only ourselves to blame. But there's a special place in hell waiting for the goonsquad who silenced so much debate in the run up to Sprinter's calamity and have still been pushing their bullsh.it pseudo-science narrative in the 28 months since, as the rest of us looked up at the creaking tower and saw it starting to crumble.

Tommyd and Fruits seems to be having a lie in today ..... Fruits will be along eventually I'm sure, but I hope we've seen the last of Td.

RM didn't mention COPD in his tragic little soliloquy - hardly surprising that's its disappeared from his list, as yesterday NIH approved Ensifentine for COPD - after its trials showed a 36% improvement. It becomes the first biologic for COPD and is administered by patients at home using .... wait for it.... a nebuliser. One final irony on this tragic day.

I was really talking about the post Sprinter crew on here Scinv - but yes you were the first to call this as a wrong 'un back in the day, when - as you say - i too was an enthusiastic supporter. I did support some of your posts even then however as you were battered by the believers, and I was often in battle myself with pmjh and co. The failure to start ACTIV2 because they didn't have the drug was a huge embarrassment as you say, but even that was laughed off - with some even questioning whether it happened at all.

Good luck with the fundraise for ventilated patients though. Zero chance of any of us supporting a speculative punt trial by a failing company in an arena in which they have Zero clinical trials data and where the line between 'putting out the fire' and cytokine-storm death is so fine. And a trial that they could have run 2 years ago with the same pig in a poke justification.

SNG works - but not well enough for it to ever be commercially viable. Not by Synairgen and probably not by anyone else. Turns out it's why there's been zero interest since Sprinter and it really is why AZ walked away 10 years ago.

Doc83 was right. Mani, TP, Professional, Axe and all the rest of us who were attacked for pointing out the gaps in Tommyd's glorious narrative were right. My "pseudo-science" was right. I mean even Mrc and Sakura7 were right.

Tommyd will disappear now. There's nothing left to spin.

Plan B is lights out. The university spin off, spins back in, mass redundancies, and a shell company waiting in the darkness hoping for one of Fruits' doomsday scenarios to materialise.

That's a shocker to be fair. They have failed to find the specific patient cohort they hoped UNIVERSAL would identify and now will run just one trial in ventilated patients. AAB- ifns work has come to nothing. Variant agnostic host delivered blah blah - has come to Nothing They can't stand up any more of the promises they made a year ago and nobody in big pharma is interested. Trials expected this winter. Unless they follow this up quickly with the science that says how good the data is for ventilated patients - the sp really will drop to 2 or 3p

I've always assumed that UNIVERSAL was the trial described in the September 23 interim RNS - mentioned below at the start of the first paragraph - and again in the second paragraph. If "Conducting non-interventional preparatory work " and " insights from non-interventional studies " do not both relate to UNIVERSAL ( I suppose the first could also refer to the process of assay design for AAB-Ifns ), then surely we'd have been told what else they've been doing.

"Conducting non-interventional preparatory work to expand hospitalised patient populations for potential treatment with SNG001, which are likely to include: ventilated patients with confirmed viral pneumonia; and patients who are unable to clear virus and become persistent viral “shedders”, a majority of whom are immunocompromised. Subject to this preparatory work and regulatory approval timelines, trials are anticipated to start in H1 2024.

Insights from non-interventional studies and the substantial body of evidence gathered to date from previous clinical trials will inform a robust clinical programme for the development of SNG001.

We spoke at some length about Axe's service on this bb in 2020 and 21 - and having been in NI at roughly the same time, and in some of th same places, I had no doubts about what he described. He was never bragging but there were other former servicemen on the board then and it was just a conversation such as happens whenever squaddies and tars find themselves in the same room.

Lead investigator for SG016 and Sprinter - and UNIVERSAL. Pretty good chance he'll repeat this role in future trials - though I guess Ghia's point wasn't so much about him leaving permanently, but being free to do other things as the trials are not ready.

I'm sure the majority of companies on AIM sit between these 2 extremes. Releasing relevant information that helps shareholders understand their investment without RNSing every minor advance. Synairgen has told us NOTHING for 9 months - during a period of huge activity, a lot of which could have been shared. Pre Feb 2021 the release of news was much better and in particular as trials were approaching we were able to see the building blocks of the process.
