Mad Stork, you make some good points. The longer we have to wait for an update the more your point of view might be more accurate. Don't take this the wrong way but I very much hope you are incorrect.
In the back of my mind I have the nagging feeling of the Dutch Tulip hysteria example and am twitchy about the lack of news. Also the non-exec who left recently only makes a passing reference to EUA in his work profile (did he jump before the iceberg?).
Onassis, oh the irony, TC is where I lost all my money before, I had used what was left of punt money here to recoup TC losses - hopefully I will do but this shorting makes me very uncomfortable!
"This pattern has been played on this share time and time again. Funny how a little while back when millions were bought DIDNT move a muscle. Tells me this is being accumulated. Good sign"
Sadly it is a game of patience but it's a demand on the nerves and what else you could be doing with your lolly
Panino: Yep, nail on the head, it is taxing and a ruddy ball-ache. Hopefully the vodka swilling bears can pull their feckin' fingers out of the borscht and give us some bloody news
I think it's got parallels to the EU Trade Deal negotiations. They either have 2 strong bidders or 1 bidder and they are pushing for a higher price and no-one is blinking at the moment, stalemate. Bit like a Sergio Leone film prior the dénouement.
RE: Don't quite understand Shorting this share16 Dec 2020 17:18
Pacha, I think the SP is being played. When I saw the that shorts were being taken up I kind of felt that there would be pay to get the price the down. The classic one recently-ish was Burford and Muddy Waters - there was a lot more to that particular play but it was a smash and grab and I reckon to lesser extent compared to Burford that's what you are seeing here. However I think it's also doubly cheeky - they get the SP down and get a return on their shorting and then can pile in at the low SP to make bigger gains when there's an offer on the table - that's what I think whoever is behind the shorting is up to.
If nothing else, I take solace in the fact that this could indicate some sharp investors know this one has got wings and is soon to fly.
Interesting with the recent Shorts declarations14 Dec 2020 14:57
Interesting that were a lot of Shorting notifications and then the SP gets walked down, big boys just making easy money with their finance friends. Current SP drop just a storm in a tea-cup, the facts are sill there - tons of precious metals and a world hungry to consume those raw materials. GLA
Jambo, yeah it's an interesting move, might be balancing their risks but I wonder if they are doing it to cover their backs. Have they bought in because they have insider knowledge and then taken a little short to cry innocent if the SP goes up and then they can say well we took a short so we didn't know if upsies or downsies. I'm probably talking twaddle as I'm a rank amateur at this game. Wiser heads will no doubt (fish and) chip in :)
It would be Brill if we got an RNS tomorrow and I hope we don't Flounder and that it's a Sole offer outright and not any chance of a further Plaice-ing but they better get their Skate's on :)
Good points Headancer, all these heavyweights are not involved for nothing, this is going to be a smasher (when we we eventually get the first announcement ;) GLA
