imo, the logical play was to keep the original holding, take the full entitlement and ask for more. I sold elsewhere (ITV) to generate the cash I needed. Kier looks a winner. I will set a price target but happy to play the long game.

Qwertyii, selling to buy here is a perfectly good option if no other funds available. You also wouldn't need to sell everything to pay for the 7/8 @ 85p. At current price, you would only need to sell 64% to fund the allocation.

SBTX SP of 125 (which we will see if all goes to plan) would cover 100% of OPTI mcap at the moment. OPTI is imo therefore seriously undervalued. Both are BUYS for me.

Well said Wisheyedbortum - a profit is a profit. Had similar experience at ODX. and saw a huge profit disappear. Took my profit here but now starting to build a new position. Expected a spike and pullback but not this severe. It's never a straight line though and not a time to panic.

If my calculations are correct, SBTX at 117 would mean OPTI current price covered by the 23% holding.

Poleaxe, imo shorting Kier now is a very dangerous game. Doesn't worry me if there are shorters entering now. Always fun to see them get squeezed and squeezed they will be.
