It makes no difference what so ever, Bally's knew their would be an impairment to the assets and tabled the 50p bid based on their own investigations and as far as I am aware impairment losses (or gains) are not allowable for tax only realised ones.

What difference does it make, any bidder would have based their bid on its own DD, so whether the impairment was made or not by Evoke the bidder would know an impairment charge was due. Bally's aren't now going to say "oh look a nice clean balance sheet, let's alter our bid".

That impairment is a killer £440M

Why would one assume another bidder just because of a delay in results, more like poor admin to me

The fact the price hasn’t risen to with a couple of pence of the 50p offer says a lot about the prospects of it happening.

I hold my shares on eToro and they don’t even trade Ballys, so if it does go through then I need to set up another broker as well !

Once this sorry ordeal is over, it will make the perfect learning exercise for business students about how not to run a company and how CEO vanity can ruin a very profitable business for the sake of it.

Unfortunately long term holder with holdings in the £4's averaged down to around 50p but overly exposed in doing so and capital tied up and also a chunk on leverage to get my average down that is costing me overnight fees.

CJ69 - you keep mentioning the £245m but no-one know one knows what that will end up as once the tax rises kick in

I said in a previous post, that they must surely have been able to model hypothetically what effect the new tax rises would have had on 2025 the results just to give a feel of what is to come

On the ADVFN site, someone is suggesting that the buyer has walked away- hence the now considerable drop today
