Overview (IMO)20 Jun 2024 14:02
The arrival of the kiln marks a significant milestone, and the next stages involve installation, commissioning and testing. Here's an overview IMO of the expected next steps. I'll let posters guess the timescales :)
Installation of Ancillary Equipment: Setting up infrastructure and components to support the kiln's operation. Carried out by Engsolve.
Commissioning and Testing: Once complete, the R&D team will start commissioning and testing the kiln including Feedstock Testing Unit (FTU). Involving calibrating the equipment, optimizing performance, ensuring all systems function as designed.
Research and Development: The kiln will initially be used for research and development purposes, testing various waste streams, optimize the conversion process to gather data, refine their technology, and showcase the capabilities to potential investors and customers by providing tangible evidence of its effectiveness and potential benefits.
Scaling Up and Commercial Operations: Following successful commissioning and testing, PHE will focus on scaling up their operations. This includes building additional FTUs, establishing partnerships, and securing contracts for the deployment of their technology at a commercial scale.
Continuous Optimization and Innovation: Throughout the process, PHE will continue to optimize their technology, improve efficiency and explore innovative updates including remote management.
Regulatory Compliance and Permitting: As as in commercial operations, compliance with environmental regulations and obtain the necessary permits for waste-to-energy facilities.
Market Penetration and Expansion: With a proven technology with IP and successful demonstrations, focus will shift to penetrating the market and expanding their reach for new customers, industries, and geographic regions, showcasing the applicability and benefits of their waste-to-energy solution.
Long-Term Sustainability and Impact: Ultimately, PHE aims include reduced landfill waste, minimize environmental impact, and support the transition to a circular economy.
