Methanol: (growing demand in the UK, wide range of uses)

Hydrogen (profitable but hampered by infrastructure)

Diesel and Jet Fuel (significant UK demand for transportation fuels)

Electricity (continuous UK growth)

Ammonia (significant market in the UK agricultural sector)

Dimethyl Ether (smaller UK but demand growing as a Clean-burning fuel, aerosol propellants)

Ethanol (growing market in the UK, biofuel and chemical industries)

PHE have given us a comprehensive insight into their goals for this quarter and onward into 2025. Just a matter of patience. Regarding Crypto & AI, they’re joined at the hip, both consuming vast amounts of energy and water, currently competing for green sources to offset CO2 footprints. Energy dependent tech comes at a cost just like the legacy of fantastic plastic. Bad enough sorting the Horizon scandal. Next episode “It wasn’t me officer it was AI”?

Interesting that the response from Altec was only targeted at Hydrogen.

Given that the current UK market off take for Hydrogen is in its infancy, I trust that other high value products will merit consideration from Syngas via DMG analysis over the next 12 months .

Currently Methanol, Diesel and Jet Fuel, Electricity, and Ammonia are likely to have the highest demand and off-take potential in the UK.

I emailed Altec asking a basic question of how they viewed the test facility progress and pending results. I received the following response.

In other news, the Thai government are actively planning a comprehensive roadmap for the hydrogen economy, which is a significant development for us. Cheers, I'm aware a lot have waited a long time to get to this point. Can’t help feeling that the time is ripe for an innovative British company to showcase their technology. The world is not in a good place but perhaps PHE can provide at least provide one positive solution to the many we all face.

Afternoon Scooby: Free money, most are hollow pledges. My only hope is the powers that be invest in sorting waste (which is not happening due to costs). I have first hand experience of offering 100% clean polypropylene production waste for recycling. This waste material also carried independent analysis certification. Turns out it gets dumped on a pile of mixed plastics, a waste of my time and Energy.

The Irish project is waiting for permits. When they have confirmation of meeting their envi-ronmental/impact and offtake spreadsheets, things may start to move a little quicker on what is a slow burn process.

The general public will no doubt class DMG as a greenwashed incineration/gasification plant. Its going to need some high-profile positive press to leap that hurdle.

That said, I have faith and increased my holdings over the last 12 months understanding it may take some time and luck for PHE to develop into a mature & successful company.

Sorting general waste into categories is a complex and costly. Ideally, manufacturers should take responsibility for the waste generated by their products and invest in developing effective segregation infrastructure for end of life plastics. IMO There more likely to push this agenda than reduction. Lots of kicking and screaming to boot from all perpetrators.
