As much as I have been critical of AYM over the past couple of years and the "Endless promises" people have to realise by now that AYM will not come into production anytime soon, If I could deal with your post in two parts, 1) "Workings flooded, shafts capped, mine abandoned" The Morris shaft is flooded with rain water and run off, it is capped with some loose planks of wood for safety (You can drop stones between the gaps and hear the plop) I questioned Bill about this and he said that it can very easily be pumped out, using multi level pumps at very little cost and the water has already been analysed and found to be pure water.
2) "Me thinks this would take serious folding stuff to bring back into production" this has also be addressed by targeting the "White rock zone" the pay, starts at just 30ft below the surface, this is where the helical incline would start, in essence as soon as AYM starts sinking the incline we would be producing.
As easy as the two points I have raised, sounds, I feel they are years away, just to obtain the Environmental impact study and permissions from NRW for de-watering would take at least 12 months (Just look at the crazy situation over at ALBA about de-watering in Wales) as for the White rock zone this is where the EIS, permissions and money comes into it, I think you would be surprised at how little money it would take, however we don't have any, In my personal opinion, yes it will take years for Parys to come into production, but the slightest bit of good news and the bottom feeders will be locked out for good
